AOR is the acknowledgment of receipt that most VOs, including Buffalo, send out. If you don't have one and they've had your file for some time, you can email them to "force" an AOR. They should send you one, it's an automated email message that includes the principal applicant's Client ID and the application number, #Fxxxxxxxxx and/or #Bxxxxxxxxx. The sponsorship approval letter you should have received would have included the sponsor's UCI, which is Client ID, and I think they began putting application/file numbers on the sponsorship approval letters as well. You do need that number to order the GCMS notes. The information on ordering them is here: http://immipedia.ca/Ordering_FOSS_and_CAIPS_notes. The receipt number will get you into e-CAS but I would not use that for ordering the notes as the Access to Info & Privacy Act form specifically asks for file number. By the way, e-CAS is not very reliable, but instead of constantly checking it, I'd recommend signing up for e-CAS tracker which will email you when and if there is an update. Not really sure what an AOR is and no, I never did receive any email from them. And if by some reason it went to junk, those are removed automatically.
What is this query for $5? How do I go about it? I don't mind spending money, I mean come on...paperwork already cost a lot. What's another $5. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thank you!
Okay I found steps for it in another thread. BUT, I do not have applicant id # or what have you. If they ended up sending it via email, I never got that. All I have is a receipt number for paying my fees up front.

Hi Guys After 6 months of waiting, my wife got passport request last Friday. We are so happy.
Dude, our timeline is quite similar to each other. I'm hoping I'm up next! I've been crazily waiting for my wife's PR to be approved for ages! To make matter worse, I'm going crazy because of this crazy heat & traffic jam in Indonesia.

I got my Case#, but never gotten a File #. I sent the Singaporean VO a couple of times; but never gotten a reply back. I checked my junkmail several times; never gotten any answer from Singapore. Also, my ECAS update is still stuck on "Application Received" since May 27, 2011.

Let's me post it here so others can share their view
1) How active was the Singapore VO updating your application? - They are very responsive if you know what you are asking. My ecase stuck at Application Received since May 27, 2011. It 's got change to In Process in Nov 3, 2011 at the same time my wife got good news.
2) When you received your AOR, did the Singapore VO actually sent you an Email/Letter? - I did not receive any AOR from Singapore.
3) How did they communicate with you? Email or traditional post? - They communicated via emails (I checked this preference in the application)
4) When did you receive the good news? Have you actually gotten the PR VISA stamped/stuck to the passport? - My wife got email from VO request for passport and instruction how to send them, the same time at the ecase status change to IN Process. She 's on her way to IOM to hand in her passport now. I guess we have to wait for a couple week before we got the stamp.

w00t! Thanks for the response! ACTUALLY, they just responded to my Email! They gave us our File # (though it's damn near identical to the "view" from the Case # perspective). Lesson: NEVER use the built-in form; use that "general inquiry" address. (I'm a developer, things using forms get lost/messed up all the time. Foolish of me thinking such thing wouldn't happen to gov't institutions). Here's to hoping they're gonna be quick with our application! The date difference between trungngan and I are very narrow!

Wow, some activity. Congrats to jamaicanincanada and trungnan! Seven months can be a long time, can't it.
About half of the people on the spreadsheet have had their passport request but it's amazing that only ten of us have received the visa (or maybe that's just due to low reporting).

Congrats from me as well! I'm still here, Uccemebug. Buffalo received my police clearance from France on October 12th so I'm just waiting. My interview was waived and medical results have been received so hopefully I'll hear something soon!
