As per my calculations... and the fact that this a thread for April 2010 applicants...
>> Most of the people might have got their first AOR in June 2010 >> Most of the people might have submitted their Docs in July 2010 >> Most of the people might have got their second AOR in August 2010 >> Then the clock for wait times start........... >> 18 months will lapse in Feb 2012.
But i may be wrong in all those assumptions.... and actually most of the applicants are already past the 18 months (revised ndvo processing times)
Therefore my appologies for posting Irrelevent information...!!!

Just relax friends, Its gonna get to 14 in next updates, and we all will go on our way be max end of this year,, See, those who are aware of the current rejection rate, lets take it other way round. I have noticed a lot of negativity in threads, which resulted in a lot of rejections. Its only we our self who will get our visa by our positive thoughts. Also once we have decided to wait, we should be ready for the same, as long its going to result in visa. Because, none of us wants to get rejection after more than 2 years of waiting. Good guys and keep going, Kavya

Bro, As quarter is of 3 months so AT MAX it could be increased by 3 months not by 6 months (i.e 18 to 24) But hope that things go well for all of us and it doesn't increases or almost one month increase....

Hi, Question for you "Do you think that the processing time of 18 months is a real figure"? I can see on the thread people have been waiting for almost 2 years since they submitted documents to get the visa and as far as our application goes , I was very much positive at the beginning of year 2012 predicting that we will see some movement in the files of pre Juners but going by the way they are working means that there replies of waiting for 2 years or more will definetly come true. Bro,

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, this past week, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper outlined a plan for broad and lasting economic change in Canada. Key to this plan is ‘significant reform of our immigration system'. Standing in front of an international audience of state representatives and private businesspeople, Harper stated: “We will ensure that, while we respect our humanitarian obligations and family reunification objectives, we make our economic and labour force needs the central goal of our immigration efforts in the future”. Specific details as to how Canadian immigration systems will accommodate a large-scale shift in priorities were not included in his speech. However, Immigration Minister Jason Kenney later quantified some planned initiatives to address Harper's goal of using the immigration system to directly respond to economic needs. He underscored Canada's continued commitment to keeping immigration levels high, and was quick to point out that despite the global recession, Canada has accepted more immigrants per capita than any other developed country. One significant change that Kenney expanded upon referred to the points grid used to assess Federal Skilled Worker applications. It will be changed to “look at younger workers, people with pre-arranged jobs, and also go to a system that's more proactive; more reaching out and recruiting people who have the skills we need rather than just being an entirely passive system”. Central to this change in the points system will be a renewed emphasis on skilled trades learned through experience rather than higher education. Kenney states that “the skilled worker program basically selects people with advanced university degrees. But a lot of the job shortages in Canada are people with more basic [skills] – skilled trades for example”. Many Provincial Nominee Programs have already been expanded to accommodate individuals who will contribute to the Canadian economy in this way. It is now hoped that by pursuing a similar structure federally, Canada will be able to use a more flexible immigration program to fill gaps in the job market. These changes have the possibility to facilitate immigration for workers that were previously unable to qualify for permanent residency. “Skill is not necessarily defined by a college degree,” says Attorney David Cohen. “If this issue is addressed wisely, Canada will have the opportunity to attract valuable immigrants in the international labor pool who have been previously overlooked”. However, he cautions those now seeking to immigrate to Canada, stating that “currently qualified immigrants should not wait until changes take place, as it is unclear how they will stand under the new protocols”. Kenney finished by noting that additional changes will be made in entrepreneurial and investor programs. Greater attention will be paid to individuals who come to Canada to set up “high tech and research & development-based companies that will create the wealth of the future”. It is expected that a detailed and comprehensive plan for immigration reform will be presented some time in the spring. Though it targets immigration in skilled worker categories, it is unclear how (if at all) this will affect other streams of immigration such as family class. However, it appears that through these announced (and yet to be announced) changes, Prime Minister Harper is setting the stage for immigration policies that will affect a generation to come.

Yeah bro i believe so ,,, This holds true till 31 Dec 2011, not till date So according to them they have processed 80% of case in 18 months (based upon 2nd AOR Date) So they have have cleared upto june 2010 cases (2nd AOR), Though this 80% figure may not be exactly true but the deviation will not be too high , nd one thing more these are only historical figures , so we cant predict ny thing by guarantee but jst hope good for all of us....

This is simply injustice.... Old Applications processing time increased to 93 months i.e. almost 8 years & I am sure it will take almost 9 years. I wonder what CIC is thinking & doing...... They are merely snatching away 9 years from an applicant's life. Imagine someone applied at the age of 41 he will be 50 if ever his application is touched for processing. I do not think anyone at the age of 50 would like to leave his native country to start his life from ZERO to settle in Canada. Even if some one applied at the age of 31 will be 40 & will be surely reluctant to leave his country & restart life in Canada. This is ridiculous...... Is this some game CIC is playing ? 18 months for MI 1 from India from 2nd AoR (Full Docs). Add almost 10 months time of Application filing upto 2nd AoR & it is 28 months appox. & it is likely to increase in next quarter. I am pretty sure that we will hear not earlier than 36 months from our application filing date. If final processing takes another 7 - 8 months as per trend seen for forum member who got MR & PPRs it will be almost 3.5 to 4 years from the date of 1st application. This is what they call Fast Track. In 2006 processing time was almost 4 years for (Pre 2008) Old applications. Now Fast track will take that much time. CIC is simply playing with the future of applicants.

If at all they are looking for Skilled professionals who are young, I fail to understand why they are making applicants wait for YEARS to process 8 - 9 years waiting time for Old applications & 3 - 4 years for MI-1 is Completely Contradictory to what they convery in Public. I don't know why they are not holding new applications intake & processing genuine application which they have as backlog.
