Hello every one,,,
I am a new member in this forum, and I like it ..
Actually I would like to seek advice about my case if anyone can help me.
I did started my Canada immigration application, skilled labor category with a consultation company here in dubai, and signed my contract with them, initial application along with my bank draft cheque for application fees completed and dispatched to London office by them on 24th April 2010.
Till now I didn't get the 1st response of the file number and list of required documents and they keep telling me that a delay in processing happened from the processing office in London due to change of the immigration policy, but my application is received and we should just wait for the response which it is expected in the coming 2 weeks. And they keep repeat that every time I check with them.
I started to worry about it, anyone has similar situation.
Your advices are highly appreciated.

Hi Mohdnuman,

Your Initial application should have gone to CIO and not to LONDON. Though I think, there was some problem with the VO (London or Islamadad). Yes, there are some applicants who got delayed due to the transfer of files due to the inclusion of VO (not applicants fault). Check if your bank draft has been encashed.  If you want you may try to call CIO office yourself. Check pg 82 of this thread on how to contact the CIO.

Also check, if you have a tracking number for your application, when was it actually delivered, so that you can inform the CIO customer service when you call.

Best of luck.

Hi Haral,

Is it mentioned on the VO requirement (London) to mention col of eyes and height? I could not find it hmmm....signs of aging is catching up with me, I guess!!!!!

The following was my response to Sameer's PM.

Hi Sameer,

The specifications as required to be written behind the photos is different for VO.

I just checked the London VO requirements and according to that you are required to send only 4 photos for each of your family member (as you already know). Take care about the specific requirement for size etc. Other VO office such as ND mentions to write DOB, name and the dt when the photo was taken. I would suggest NOT to write anything behind the photos....as there must be a reason for CIC. I would also suggest to send another set of (4 for each of your family member) having the DOB, name and the date when the photo was taken written behind the photos.

I am just being over cautious......you never know why CIC might reject application. Also mention in your cover letter why you have included extra photos in your package. They can make their selection according to their need and reject the ones not required.

Hi Satnam,

Take a print out of the Fees payment form with the $550 as printed. Cross out the amount for Principl applicant by hand and include your spouse and child with the payment amount. In your cover letter mention explicitly that you made changes by hand to include the fees for your family as the online services on the CIC website did not allow you to modify the payment form.

I hope you are aware that many applicants are having problems with Credit card transactions, so, please send a draft. In case you have already thought about it then ignore my suggestion.

Mitali

Thank you both Saki and Mitali.

Another query please..
I hope you remember my husband studied in UK. So while filling travel history, should I fill

Duration                  Country     Purpose
Oct 2001 - Sep 2003  UK            Study

or I also have to mention the all the instances when he came back to India for a month or so?  In that case it would be like this:

Duration                     Country         Purpose
Oct 2001 - Dec 2002     UK                Study
Feb 2002 - Apr 2002      UK                Study .. and so on.

Do I also need "Releasing Certificate"/ No Dues Certificate from my institute when I left the job or acceptance of my resignation letter?

Thanks!

Hi Arshad,

Have you heard of the saying "You need two hands to clap"? I strongly believe, that is what is happenning on this Forum. Many people are contributing in a positive manner only because of wonderful people like YOU. So YOU do play an important part in this progress.

Hi Satnam,

I think the second option ( with all vacation time included) is better as it is more transparent regarding the whereabouts of your spouse. Moreover, it is always better to provide all informations to avoid further delays in procesing.

I don't see any harm to include your Releasing letter, though, there is no specific requirement by CIC. I think it will be good in your case as you have had one job and you can explain that you took a sabbatical to take care of your family (example:child birth). Just my suggestion.
