You are supposed to produce a PCC for every country where you have lived for 6 contiguous months or more after having attained the age of 18.

So if the stay in the U.K. was after having attained the age of 18 and if it was for a duration of more than 6 months, then, a PCC from the U.K. will be required.

Sorry folks,my earlier post was misleading. By mistake I had written 12 months. It is actually 6 months. The 12 month requirement is for New Zealand immigration. For Canada immigration, it is 6 months as Saki has rightly mentioned.

yup i did send a letter to CIO requesting for the correction.  although, i am not sure if they were be able to trace it with my initial application since it has no reference number yet, only my name.  if they were not able to trace it, should i be told or emailed to send another form with the correct POF amount?  I guess, I will be requested to just correct my mistake in the VO.

Plz help me with police clearance certificates. I lived in USA for 4 yrs and in UK for 1 year. How do i get police clearance certificates? I have seen the FBI website and it says tht u must get the finger prints done form some agency. But currently i am in saudi Arabia and i dnt knw where to contact. I have tried calling American embassy but the silly guy told me to go to ABU DHABI and get them done from ther. Does tht makes any sense?
Anyone can help me?

i would like to ask that is there anybody whose documents were received by VO london without university seal envelop? on this friday i went to Punjab University and asked about uni seal envelop they replied that u have to pay about 1500 Rupees including courier charges and university itself send it to the London VO. but my concern is that VO demand all the documents in the single package. if university send it separately and we send the other documents separately then this thing is confusing me. if all the post graduate degrees are attested by HEC and foreign office then it is necessary to send the degrees in the university seal envelop? plz help

Hi raufatif,

1) I am sure your local Police stations will be able to assist you for finger printing.

2) If the 1st option does not work, then contact FBI and ask them to mail you couple of fingerprint cards depending on the number of people and how many you want to send). They send it for free. I have seen posts on the Forum wherein applicants have themselves taken their own finger prints. As we are not professional, so you may have to practice a lot before you actually print on the Fingerprint card. But for obvious reasons professional help is recommended.

3) Once you are confident of the technique, take couple of fingerprints according to the instructions on the card. You pay only 1 time/applicant. They will select the best card.

4) The current timeline is 16 weeks to get a response from FBI.

5) Send a prepaid envelope so that you can trace it and dont loose time.

6) As far as the UK PCC is concerned it is quite straight forward as informed by Sukhi_boy on this thread.

7) Also remember your PCC should not be more than 3 months old on the date it is received at the VO.

Hi Asif,

There is a confusion there....this rule has been intimated to most of the Univ world wide basically for post 26th Jun candidates.

I have not come across applications being rejected if degee etc attested by HEC.

I guess you can mention in your cover letter your concern which is definitely legitimate.

i came back from UK in dec 2008 after 5 years and while sending my docs to ND visa office on 21 july 2010...
come on satnak...its not a big deal to get PCC from UK from india...trust me its very simple...u can easily get forms from internet....

Hi JPMA,

I am not sure if CIO will ask you for corrected forms. I have also observed applications being approved at CIO with incorrect POF which ofcourse had to rectified at VO.

It is tough to send additional forms especially if you dont have a client ID. Did you add your DOB in the letter? Since the situation is out of your hands you can do nothing now. But keep another form with cover letter ready. In the meantime try to get in touch (Call) CIO till you get a Client ID. Also check with them if they have got your additional form. If they have your additional form then its fine or else mail the other form...this time with all the details. Send it with tracking number so that you can trace.
