hi pvks, can u send me  mailing address of new delhi visa office?did u sent it by post or courier?which is better?did u send originals birth certificates?what certificates should be sent in originals apart from ielts, pcc.transcript, pof?

Hi sadika,

Below is the link for ND checklist. It mentions on the top of the list that DO not send originals unless stated.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37029.pdf

Better send by courier so that you can have a tracking number.

Hi All,

Dear Mitali/Saki,

I have a query about IELTS validity (I think it is 1 year) - Does it need to be valid when the documents are sent to local VO? Mitali, as you said in a previous post, it has to be valid when they log the application in, not only up to receipt. How long should it take to log the application in from receipt of documents at Delhi?

Moreover, I sent my IELTS copy to CIO and believe that the points are already assigned. What if the IELTS validity expires after CIO gives 1st AOR and before submission of documents to VO? Is it required to take it again?

I am concerned because I will be working on the edge - My IELTS score is dated 5 September 2009, application was received by CIO on 29 April, CC charged just 3 days back so I expect AOR to come in the August end. I think I will have only a few days for submission of documents to VO and I do not know if they will log it in before 5 Sep or not. What will happen if they process my application after 5 Sep?

Please help me. Thanks.

Hi docmd,

I would say it might take at the most 2 days ( as I have observed with applications at CIO) provided it does not reach on a weekend.

Have all your other documents ready. You may actually receive your AOR within 15-20 days. But just in case you receive your AOR by the end of Aug then you are at risk as they might treat your current IELTS as an invalid IELTS score.... and trust me they are trying to find any reason for rejection however insignificant.

I would suggest to book a IELTS test now. You will have 5 weeks before you can cancel your IELTS test and get some refund. In case you get your AOR early then you can cancel your IELTS test. So you should book sometime during Sept end so that you have that window to cancel test and get a refund.

Mitali

NB: Just wanted to add that 5th Sept happens to be a Sunday, so your application should reach atleast on 1st Sept to be safe.

Thanks a lot for your valuable reply.
Does it mean I should be okay if I can submit all documents before 1st Sep (Wed). (Just an assumed target date.....!!!)

Hi docmd,

Your docs should reach by 1st September so that they have 2 days (assuming) to enter your application onto their system.

Once it is entered then that is "LOCK IN "date for your application. After that it depends on the VO to open your documents at any time and even though your IELTS validity will be over but it still is valid because of the LOCK IN date.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi yas,

IELTS scores are valid for 1 year as you know already.

It should be valid on the date it will be received at your visa office. I do not know at what stage you are at collecting your full documents so as Explorer suggested keep all the other docs ready and as soon as you receive the AOR, mail your full docs along with the IELTS score.

But you will be a better judge to decide on the timeline... just remember it should be valid when received at Visa office (not the day delivered but the day entered into their system)

Mitali

Thanks alot

Hi Sadika,

ND VO does not show any different address for courier or mail. I would not be able to tell if the address has changed..... moreover if the address would have changed it should reflect on the CIC website.

Experience letters should be original.

Contract papers could be Notarised. They would ask if they wanted originals.

Send a PM to pvvks to confirm the address.

Congrats, you will need to submit all documents at once so you cant send IELTS later and if you do so and visa officer has already opened your case then he wont accept your IELTS and will give you the points on the basis of what he thinks your english proficiency is so it can be 0 or it can 16 as well, so better not to take that risk and send all documents together.

Cheers

Hi rnaaz,

There was no requirement to send IELTS score to CIO. You will have to send the IELTS score with your full documents to your Visa office.

Hi STS,

I think you should send RPRF fees along with your full documents.

1) I have read on the website that new requirements overrides the old requirements... but I can not find it.

Logic:

1) The current official website is the only one available to view.
2) I am sure there are people who have not been observant enough or have not printed out the old checklist..what will they follow? They will obviously follow  the new one oblivious to the past one.

I will post the link as soon as I find it.

Mitali

Thanks Mitali! Yes, I will be sending the RPRF with the full documents.
Regards,
STS
