Guys ...........

A quick question..... when an applicants status changes to 'in process', what does it mean? Does it mean that the applicant met the minimum 67 points?

Thx, KC

Dear "In Process" means that a your VO started processing on your file which you sent after getting the 1st AOR. That means they started reviewing your full documents. Background check and all.

hi saki or mitali,
i have been trying to access my ecas with both my old and new file numbers but i am unable to access them now. both numbers are not acknowledged by the system. last week, i was able to open my old file number with the same message from CIO even after I received my 2nd AOR. Even then, the new number assigned to me by my country's visa office was not acknowledged by the system. Now, both file numbers are inaccessible. should i be making a case specific inquiry?

Just wait for one or two days and if its still not come up then send a case specific enquiry, sometimes system is down as well.

Cheers

Hi

All i can say is just wait and have patience your turn will come, recently we have seen many applicants getting status in-process and medical received and most of them are incorrect, so just wait and if they have really started processing files than yours will change soon.

Cheers

Just to inform everyone that I will update the April thread shortly as many people have reported status changes. I do not update the tracker frequently because our tracker is too long and takes up a lot of space....but now its time for an updated tracker.

Canada medical care costs and insurance for new immigrants

Canada, 4th February: Canada has been witnessing increasing rise in the costs of health and medical care in the recent years.

The health-care system in Canada is in need of reforms to not just make the healthcare and medical care in Canada more affordable but also for bringing significant improvements in terms of quality.

This is especially important keeping in the view the fact that healthcare eats up around 50 percent of the Ontario's program spending and it might go even higher to 80 percent by the year 2030 if no steps are taken to control rising costs of healthcare in Canada.

Several Canadian provinces are waking up to the need for reforms and are taking steps to control healthcare costs. Ontario took the initiative by announcing reduction of around 50 percent in the prices of the generic drugs along with wiping away of incentive fees to manufacturers of generic drugs.

It was followed by B.C. (British Columbia) and Quebec in introducing measures for controlling high costs of medical and healthcare in Canada. While B.C. announced introduction of fee-for-procedure payments to hospitals, Quebec proposed for payments on every single medical visit.

Private funding for knee surgery, cataract and hip surgery is on the agenda of a couple of Canadian provinces.

What steps are needed—?

• Nurses and doctors in Canada should take their responsibilities for giving suggestions with regard to bringing improvisations in quality and efficiency in the healthcare in Canada.

• Universities and research organizations must play their role in bringing everyone closer by involving the media for getting consultations from the public.

• Drug manufacturers must suggest cost saving techniques. • Academics should chalk out proposal for promoting good health in the nation.

Health coverage for newcomers in Canada---—

• If you are a potential immigrant wanting to move to any of the Canadian provinces including British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick, make sure to buy short-term healthcare insurance from any private company before you arrive here. The reason is that you will not be eligible for health plan incentives till you have stayed for a minimum of three months after moving here. In case, you don't do so, at least ensure to get health insurance within 5 days after arriving in Canada.

• After your arrival in Canada. Apply soon for a health card in the concerned Canadian province to get free health coverage in Canada by showing three identity proofs of your immigration status in Canada.

Hi All,

Yes, even for us initially it was showing two statuses - "In Process" and "CIO Review complete..."

But now it seems to be rectified, just like for many others. It now shows only "In Process".

This relieves us of the tension that the status change was an error. Waiting for the Medicals request soon...

Good luck to all of you for the medicals!!!

You just have to follow the VO's advice and withdraw one.. the withdrawal choice is not automatic in your case in fact it is tricky...

how big is the error in first application? If you have already received the AOR for it then does it mean that the error was a minor one and hence is ignored? or is it of the type which will be highlighted in the detailed background checks?
In the second case you can think of withdrawing the first one. otherwise you can withdraw the second one.

Also In case if you can write to the VO explaining the mistake and stating that it was just an oversight on your part and not a deliberate attempt to hide or falsify any info then plz do so and continue with the first one as it is already in process.

All the best for your PR Processing.

Thank you, Sapana.
That is a minor mistake. I refilled the application forms, explained for the error, and sent with the full supportive documents to the VO. The 2nd AOR has already issued. The visa officer asked me to withdraw one otherwise they won't process my case, and said post626 gets priority. I have to decide which one I like to withdraw. It really makes me hestate for that. I expect I'll get the PER soon for the second one (based on the post626 thread in this forum). However, I still need to apply the FBI PCC again, that is another two months' waiting. I need to make a choice as soon as possible, hope I hit the right one, with my fingercross.

Hello roseapple08:

This is strange, you have the 2nd AOR with your first application, which means you have passed final eligibility. Yet the VO tells you to withdraw this application and go with the post june 26 one, which you have not received a PER/AOR, because it would be faster?

Did the VO get in touch with you in writing and said this? If yes, could you post exactly what they have written?

If it is not in writing, I would contact them again, either by phone or writing, to make sure the advice given is correct.

Thank you,
Cam

Hello Cam,
Thanks for reply.
I got the PER for my post626 application from CIO this morning. Now, time to make a final decision.
The visa officer contacted with me by phone, the lady is nice. she said that she asked her superior and got the answer. First priority is post626. Shocked We never know their logic.
