Hi Saki/Mitali,Dear Friends ,u have done a great job here.Although i dont comment here too much but i appreciate your efforts here.Kindly answer me as one of my friend in Canada has some problem and i thought to ask about it from you people. My friend did MSc from Canada, his job is going to start in a company from 15th November but his one year work permit will expire on 1st october,he is worried what should he do now? Kindly answer it
Hi Arshad, If I understand correctly, your friend's STUDENT visa will expire on 1st Oct. He will start a new job at a company on 15th Nov. Therefore he is without status for one month and a half. 1) To be out of status is not good. 2) Has he already got a work permit from that company? It should have been mentioned when he got his paperwork from that company. The current time line to get Work permit from New companies is abut 2 months. 3) He should immediately contact the company for details regarding his work permit. 4) Ask him to check his Student permit which he should have got when he entered Canada. There will be a detailed information regarding what he has to do and when. Generally, people have to "Extend their stay" by filling up forms (Available on CIC website) one month before the expiry of the PERMIT. 5) One should not become out of status at any cost. Mitali

Thanks Mitali, but i am pre 26th policy applicant. My pint was 6.5 band in L,....do u agree with the answer by Saki...?
Hi hinnajamal, According to pre 26th rule, the criteria was band 7-9 will be granted a total of 4 points. Since you have the following bands: R-7.0 = 4points W-7.0 = 4 points S-7.0 = 4 points L- 6.5 = 2 points (You would have got 4 points if you had 7.0 band) Total = 14 points Old rule R-7.0 = 4points W-7.0 = 4 points S-7.0 = 4 points L- 6.5 = 2 points (You would have got 4 points if you had 7.5 band) Total = 14 points Marks for the bands are calculated as separate module. If you are worried about the marks and the bands you scored... you are fine....14 is a very good score. Mitali

Hi, I have submitted my application for FSW1 on April 15, 2010 . Received email from CIO NS on June 30, 2010 with file number and request for submission of documents within 120 days. i am also done with my IELTS last June 5, 2010 and got the result in 13 days. CIC asked me to submit my full docs (originals) for review together with my IELTS result to be submitted to Visa Office in Manila. Hoping to get track with the processing status together with those who applied on the same date.

Hi guys,
I called CIO yesterday and they have provided me with client ID. Although the agent said that she doesn't have any information on my application except that they have started processing it.
Any idea how much time it will take to get AOR.

Hi Shiraz, It took me a week to get my AOR after getting my Client ID, I was lucky to call on the same day it was created , also the agent told me that she has no more info than my name and my Client ID ,and after 1 week i got my AOR. Good Luck

Hi Rajinder, Is it necessary to include a Travel history ...is it mentioned on the checklist? If yes, then write the name and check the box where it sys "Did not travel". Please mention in your cover letter as well that you and your spouse did not ever travel outside your country of Origin (India). No other document is needed in this case. Mitali

Hi Saki and all, please go through following link.... This is related to RPRF (right to permanent residence fee). I was abit confused since requirement# 13 in London VO document checklist says application will be returned if fees are not paid and further elaboration is not given whether they mean the processing fee we paid to CIO or RPRF as well. well the london VO link given in PDF file explains it in detail that they mean processing fees and RPRF can be paid with comeplete app submission to VO or at a later stage when they ask for it... which is usuallly at the time they send medical request. here is the link.. check bottom of the page. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/visas/fees-frais.aspx

Hello pvkks2000
Congrats for the second AOR! I think you sent your documents on 30 July. I am also in FSW2 with ND Visa office. I sent my full documents on 04 August. I wanted to know whether you rcd the AOR through normal post or registered post/courier? Also, has the ND office indicated any timeline for the processing of the application?
Anyways, you are one step ahead. Wish you the best.
Regards, STS
I received it through regular mail on friday, my e cas cahnged to received by visa office on tuesday. ND office indicated that if i dont hear from them within 3 months, they asked to contact them.

Yes, in my opinion you can pay your RPRF with your full docs or wait for the visa office to ask for it. If you pay along with full docs then you dont have to worry about not paying fees. And for Pre 26th Jun applicants.....there can not be a 2nd payment for processing fees...that will be an overpayment. What is on the website now is for the post 26th Jun applicants. Mitali
