Hi,
Could a kind soul clarify something for me. I work for an FMCG MNC in Karachi as a Marketing Manager and even though i make up the 67 points required but i am not sure if i can substantiate my work to be within NOC 1122. I have asked this eealier and have had conflicting answers with some saying i potentially can whilst others saying i am risking rejection and dissapointment after the tedious process of applying.

What i want to ask is that in complete clarity it seems my profession exists is NOC 0611 Sales, Marketing and Advertising Managers which unfortunately is not in the list of 29 for Fed Skilled Workers. Can i still apply to Canada with NOC 0611 and not get rejected and only the process would be longer?

When they say one can apply if one has arranged employment that employment has to be confirmed first and only then can i apply?. I am wondering which employer will grant me a job from that frar knowing very well that my joning his firm would take another 2-3 years?

Thanks in advance

>>> if NOC is not on occupation list, CIO will send back the entire package. It would not be a case of longer process etc.

>>>> AEO is not easy to get in every field. Jobs are here in Canada but the employers want that the person should be in Canada.

Dont loose hope, keep looking for 0611 in the list and when it pops up, you can apply.

Thanks both for writing in to explain it better. As per your advice Xnista i have gone through the post and in some ways it was informative. Nonetheless please clarify that if i i can't apply under FSW (which i can't since my NOC is 0611) and chose to apply under AEO can i initiate the tedious process of applying and send all my documents and in the mean time try aggressively to source a job in my discipline from here at home? Or does the application explicitly expects an arranged employment and only then should someone start applying?

Appreciate further clarity.
Thanks

Hi trepcose.

I am not the best person to advise but if it's any consolation, let me tell you that I am in almost similar situation/thought process myself... except that my occupation is still in the new list of 29 occupations. It is a major exception but apparently not good enough for me because currently I am short of settlement funds, therefore I am contemplating between applying with or without AEO. What I have understood so far is that without fulfilling ALL the conditions of initial FSW1 application, there's no point applying as it will be returned. Therefore, it's not wise for me to start the application process until I have sufficient settlement funds to show, neither is it for you, apparently, to start it unless your NOC is in the list of 29. The only other way out for both of us seems to be an AEO. With a good CV, lots of effort and good luck, I think it is quite possible to find an employer who would offer you a job and let you commence after up to a year. Just keep trying.

Here's the explicit application requirement. cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp (you'll need to copy and paste this link in to your browser's address bar).

Needless to say, mind the words "AND" and "OR" between bullet points on that page to understand better.

You need the AEO before you can apply for FSW2.
