Applying when pregnant

I am canadian citizen living in Bogota, Colombia, me and my wife are currently working in Colombia. My wife is Colombian , we wanto to move back to Canada. I am going to apply as a sponsor while being in Colombia, but given medical suggestion we need to have children as soon as possible, therefore it is very possible that my wife will be pregnant during the sponsorship process. How should we proceed? What type of application should we use? Do we have to wait for her process and then te baby´s process? Thank you for your help

You are a canadian citizen so you would be sponsoring her from Colombia. You would apply for your childs canadian citizenship once it is born. Would not be sponsored by you. If your wife happens to get pregnant during the process you would just notify the processing office of this new information. You won't have any change in your outland spousal sponsorship even if your wife is pregnant. When your child is born then you just apply for their citizenship.

Thanks for your prompt response. Now, what we are thinking about is to apply asap then do the medical exams, once the whole medical examitation process is finished, we would start trying to have children as per doctors prescription. would this be ok? My second question is regarding health care coverage of both the child and my wife. Which would be the best way for getting them medical coverage the whole time? Thank you again

Well with outland sponsorships they request the medical done upfront so you must have that attached to your application. They need proof of medical.
Health care coverage is a complete other story. I am not sure what your process is in Colombia, and what their health system involves. But once you and your wife arrive in Canada depending on which province you would apply for a health card there for you and your family. Some provinces give immediate coverage some have a 3 month waiting period. If you have a waiting period you can opt to get private health coverage for you and your family for the time being. That's all I can offer you about that as I am no expert in health coverage :)
Hope that helps!
