For people in Canada staying with their spouse, what did you use as evidence of financial proof? My spouse is supporting me, since i cant work while im here.  would her pay stubs work? or a bank statement? letter from my mother/father in law?

"Proof of means of financial support that demonstrate that you can support yourself and any accompanying family member while you stay in Canada (for example, your bank statements for the past four months, a bank draft in convertible currency, or proof of payment of tuition and residence fees)."

I sent in my bank statement, (hubby who is supporting me) sent in letter from his  employer  (saying how long worked there -full time plus his monthly pay ) and his bank statement. We did it online and I think it says there what they want. Good luck I just got my extention.

As I remember we sent our bank statements only. Additionaly, you could provide a letter from her job.
