Applying Online - Documents Upload - Intial Study Permit

Dear Experts,

I am applying online for study permit extension. Where do i need to upload the initial study permit paper?.
They did not ask anywhere. In document list - they asked for relevant passport pages but not asked for initial study permit .
Can i upload as one document along with passport pages?.

Could someone please respond.

Hi, see they did not ask for copy of initial study permit because they have your information already in their system.  I never sent copies of my earlier study permits whenever I applied for extensions.  Do not worry about it.

Do i need to show proof of relation certificate..like birth certificates ( of my brother and mine which shows parents name on it)?

Hi, how did you show proof of relationship with your brother the first time?  You can do it the same way again. If you would like to show proof by birth certificate this time, I think that should work too.  Good luck.

Yes, i showed birth certificate of his(which shows my parents names) first time and any way my passport pages shows my parents names..

I'll be applying for my study permit extension next week.However , there is no such a good guide on CIC website about online application.What I wanna know is that if I should upload the documents such as "IMM1249" or "Document Checklist" which are used mail based applications.If not ,how can immigration officer know essential informations about me without these documents?

Hi ,

I applied this week. It is very easy..When you go step by step there is help on right side in each step.
Also for documents upload there is help..

for me they have asked for 4 type of documents.
1. Fee receipt ($125)
1. post seconday document
2. Passport pages(relevant pages)
3. financial support documents

For online application you do not need to upload IMM 1249

Hi, I've done online renewals for my own study permit, off-campus work permit as well as for my spouse's work permit extension.  Paper applications and online renewals require different attachments.  Just follow instructions carefully and you will be fine.  You will read about Instructions for online renewal once you register for epass log-in and you proceed with the application process.
