IELTS is compulsory and the best way to prove your english language ability.

For the maximum point in IETLS, You should score

Reading 6.5
Writing 6.5
Speaking 6.5
Listening 7.5

Maximum Points for IELTS is 16. There are 4 points for Each ability.

Hi,

Hasni,

You should apply at central office Sydney (NC, CA) as your are in Saudi Arabia your visa office will be London. (London CHC is dealing the gulf cases). check the link for more details http://www.cic.gc.ca/

It is good enough to have allover 7.5 band in IELTS.
It is compulsory for every one who is not native English speaking, I know some one PhD in English literature was asked to do IELTS test.

Hope it will help you.

dear shibuya,
thanks for digging in my old post but my new post is about the different check list that we need to full fill. And keeping in mind the rapid changes that are imposed overnight by the CIC, wanted to get the offices confirmed before applying. Here you can still say that evrything is available on the web site and is crystal clear, so go and read rather that putting it here. Well my reply to that is, having so much of well informed and cooperative friends on the bpard, one can always take liberty of asking them, thereby saving your time.Cheers
