I have full time working experience over the last three years, have an immigration score above the pass mark, and will be going to Canada as a full time Ph.D student.
I plan to submit my immigration application to Buffalo after I begin my study. In normal cases, I expect to get my PR card during the course of my study, maybe two years before I graduate.
Is such a plan feasible? I would be really thankful if someone can give me some advice here.
Actually I have something more to add here - I will study my Ph.D. in Montreal but I don't want to apply for Quebec skilled worker since I don't plan to learn French. But if I apply for Federal skilled worker, my intended place to live needs to be somewhere outside Quebec. In fact, the intended place to live is something you need to provide when you fill the application form. On the other hand, officers at Buffalo will realize that if they approve my application, I will still be staying at Montreal for a few more years for my Ph.D before I can go to other places. So, would this be a problem for me?
