Hi,

Need some advise here. Following is my status:

Age 33 yrs Masters in IT
Work exp: 10 yrs (2 occupations namely Systems Admin[6.5] & Radiotherapy Technologist[3.5])
Marital Status: Married + 1 kid
Wife: Graduate + Working as X-Ray Technician for 4 + years
Relatives abroad: Brother (married) settled in Brampton

Question: Is it good to apply at this age as I know it would be more than 5 years before I get my visa.

If mine or my wifes work experience is in a field much in demand (namely medical technology, X-Ray & Radiotherapy technology) will it speed up the process a bit (combined with filing all documents accurately and properly)

Will the fact that I have a brother (real) who is a citizen of Canada help in speeding up the process?

Thanks

1.  If you don't apply now, you won't be getting any younger.
2.  Only an Arranged Employment Option will speed up your application, you brother will give you an additional 5 points.

See my other posting "dont go it alone" but I would recommend using the services of ACIC - it's who I used and I cant recommend them enough.

Their site: http://www.russcanada.com/english.php

Another thing is if you have arranged employment you can speed up your application approval process to half the wait time or less.  ACIC can advise you on that too.

The thing is if immigration is important to you - as it was for me - then you wont risk missing a step which could make or break the application.

Good luck,

Ali
