Hi All. I have a question on eligibility for applying for Canadian Citzenship. My wife was here in Canada 3 years when she was denied our in Canada family class sponsourship application due to ineligibility.  We then applied out side the country and she became a Pr in July of 2009. When I go onto the CIC website It says that when you calculate the 3 years she can get 1/2 day for everyday upto 6 months. Which would give her the rights to apply for her Canadian Citzenship 3 months earlier. The only thing is that she left Canada on a deportation order and only returned to Canada 6 months later. So my question is is she still eligible to apply 3 months earlier?

I think you'll need to be a bit clearer with your dates for us to give you an exact answer.

When did she leave Canada due to the deportation order?
When did she return to Canada? (July 2009 or earlier?)
We know she became a PR in July of 2009

In situations like this, it is better to wait and not take credit for time that might raise questions especially since the difference is only 3 months. I'd rather wait for an extra 3 months before applying and know that your application would be "more straight forward".
