Applying for a work permit as I enter Canada

So I am about to start the application process for a work visa from the London, UK office. My future employer is about to start their Labor Market Opinion (LMO) process next month in the new year.

My question is does anyone know if I do get a positive LMO, can I just skip the application process in London and instead get it done at the point of entry, most likely at the Vancouver Airport where my new job will be?

I was reading the Canadian Consulate's website on the matter here,

Under "Eligibility to apply for a work permit as you enter Canada", it states that I can apply at the port of ent

• I already have a positive labour market opinion from HRSDC
• I do not fall in the categories in the first column

I am a UK citizen and the application is only for myself. How reliable is it to get a work permit at the point of entry? Will it just be the same applying at the embassy?

As long as you don't require a TRV (visitor visa) or a medical for the job, it is pretty  straight forward.  You arrive with your LMO and your passport and they issue the work permit.
