hi,

Your forum caught my attention. thanks so much you have been giving very sound answers. My concern is if there's a great chance for me to be given a visit visa in Canada. I have been travelling back and forth to US, have a multiple visa. These days I am contemplating to see a special friend in Manitoba when i visit my sisters in US this coming May.By the way, Im from the Philippines.I don't intend to stay there. It will be a short visit, 2 weeks. Im thinking of giving my friend a surprise visit so, as much as possible I don't want my friend to know that im coming. is it ok to apply without an invitation from my friend?Would it affect my chnace of applying for a visit visa?Is having a US visa an advantage?

thanks

Having a letter of sponsorship is not required, but it would have helped.

Having a U.S. multiple-entry visa won't help you get a Canadian TRV.  They're 2 different countries.
