apply PR card befor it will expire

Hi
Is it possible to apply renewal my PR card before it will expire?
The renewal process takes about 5 months. Is it possible to apply 5 months in advance?

Yes, absolutely. You might want to apply 6 months in advance to make sure. I did that myself for mine and they sent me the notice to pick it up on the same day it was to expire.
