applied for both worker extension and visitor at the same time ?

Hi,
    I've applied for both : work permit extension and visitor status.

I'm pregnant and as I'm really not sure of my open work permit extension approval, I also applied for visitor status.

1) Is it good to stay back as implied status of visitor if my work permit gets rejected or should i go back to my hometown ?

2) Can i wait until I know my visitor status ??

You really can only apply for one or the other, not both.  You should have applied for the OWP, if you qualified.  Just because you have a work permit, doesn't mean you have to work you know.  If your extension is refused, you can either apply for reinstatement or you can go home.  If you don't have health insurance, how are you going to pay for the babies delivery?

We have our private insurance to cover the medical costs. We have applied for PR under CEC category and got requests for medicals as well .

So do you suggest to apply for restoration as visitor again if my OWP gets rejected ?
