hey everyone,
I have been hearing that applications that are supposed to be processed in Damascus are being sent to Ottawa for processing...What does that mean? does it mean further delays?!?! OMG why do they make this process sooooo hard on us .....

It's a backup plan. Ottawa is used for special cases, like expediting allowed appeals with no security/background issues, and handling applications for offices that are temporarily closed due to country conditions.
It shouldn't result in any additional delays, the point of transferring the applications to Ottawa is to AVOID delays due to having applications gathering dust on shelves while the embassy staff dodges bullets and bombs.
