Nothing for me either. The waiting game is not good for me at all. They started processing my application on 5th of April, hopefully they'll contact me next week.
Sweetmine, I am sure you miss your family a lot. Hopefully your visa will be approved in the coming week.
Waiting is not that easy after all. We have to stay strong though because there is light at the end of the tunnel. I miss my family so much, I hope that the background check will not take too long. Thanks Josephs |

Well, the new passport from home affairs finally came. We just posted it to pretoria.
Pretoria didnt respond about sending a newly issued passport so i dont know what that means.
But its done and we'll just wait for the visa i guess.

Well, the new passport from home affairs finally came. We just posted it to pretoria.
Pretoria didnt respond about sending a newly issued passport so i dont know what that means.
But its done and we'll just wait for the visa i guess.
No need to worry, your visa will be issued as soon as they get it. Hopefully, you'll have it in hand before the end of next week |

The newly issued passport should not be an issue. your wife is canada bound. She will be here soon. |

Well the official Interview date is May 16th....WE are waiting with bated breath. Hopefully the notes come in time to get an edge. FYI to anyone email pretoria. I was told by them to just your file number in the subject line and they will answer quicker. They also said to write /CP at the end....although the last part might be case specific. Here is the format: FILE NUMBER: F0000###### /CP hope it works for you. They emailed me back in 4 hours |

I had been checking the status on cic website everyday and checking emails too.
I read somewhere it will drive u crazy so i cut down to once a week. It helped. There was the PPR siting there for three days...but thats nothing compared to going nuts. This whole process is larger than life so its helpful to try to not control it even though we all want to. Its hard as heck to do that though. I hope that helps a bit. But its never that easy.

Woohoooooo I got my PPR from pretoria today!!! They said my visa is ready to be issued, that I need to send my passport to get the visa between 5 - 10 days. I am so excited  . Chrispeach and Sweetmine what about you guys? Did you also receive the email? |

Guys don't worry it looks like Pretoria is working fast on the applications. You guys will be next.
I live with my wife here in South Africa we'll only be moving towards the end of the year. I'll keep you posted in case things change.

Josephs, I see you sent in your application and did your medicals later. How did this work, i.e. did they send you a request to do the medicals? I ask because we sent our application to sponsor my step-son to Mississauga (I am in Canada) and they have approved sponsorship and forwarded the application to Pretoria. As my step-son was in SA at the time of our application, he did not do a medical before we submitted the package. I am now wondering whether Pretoria will request it, or whether he should go and do it and send it on to Pretoria. Please let me know how yours worked out. Thanks!  |
