Have flown from sask to new york maybe 4hrs?  Then direct to joberg 18 hrs? Then to durban one hour...not exact times..its always a blur
I tried vegas to washingtin first because of cheaper flight to the US and sa airlines charges similar from vegas as  as they do from ny to sa.
Layovers and waits are extra.

I don't know about Amsterdam to Cape Town because I buy the ticket from Toronto to Cape Town.
It usualy cost around 1300$, but this year I did not get a good deal so I paid 1650. It also depends on the period you travel. I know a website that has good deals. You ca also check klm.com (that the airline that I use).

I used to fly with AirFrance from Johannesburg/Paris/Montreal, with huge layovers in Paris, and kinda pricey also. This year when I landed, I tried KLM Joburg/Amsterdam/Montreal, was not disappointed. KLM is way much better than AirFrance, I was really surprised.  KLM won a new customer now  Grin

Yes it is cheaper an their service was good also for economy class. The airport in Amsterdam was great, with only 4 hours of layover.
