Applications processed in Pretoria

Im in Toronto and my husband (from Malawi) will be joining me here in two weeks. Very excited! It took 6 months for our medicals to reach Pretoria, and after our medicals were received we were asked to send his pasport a month later.

Yes! His flight is booked for November 21st, so the countdown is on. I think things went fast because they never asked for any extra documents. I had some great advice from a friend, and I sent way more information than they ask for. Photos, financials, letters of support from family and friends etc.

Nothiing yet on mine, its a month now after i sent in my  Birth Certificate and my Zimbabwean PCC... so im juyst hoping i hear something soon..  I never got an AOR letter did you get one..I hear Pretoria hardly ever send them... how are you holding up :-

I didn't get any AOR either, they started processing our application on the 26th of October and last week they sent me a letter saying that the interview has been waived,application provisionally approved. They just requested the CSQ and final payment for the completion of the application. I was surprised when I got the letter.Pretty fast. Some good news at last

Just read the whole thing and wow most people got their PR in like 6-8 months. Was that all outland? I got confused there. Are you guys all doing outland?
I just wrote everything malawi said lol will defnitly do that too. omg I hope when we apply it will take 6 months too. I guess outland is the way to go. Making damn sure our application will be flawless.. Just sucks that we're not married yet though.

Oh I have a question.. when I used to apply for visas (I have a multiple now) I used to say I was visiting a friend because I was afraid telling them my gf would set off a redlight- so worried about that. will they notice it? lol..

Well when I first went to visit my wife(girlfriend at the time) for the first time in Canada, her mother wrote the invitation letter for the visa, and stated me as an old family friend and at the airport I said I was going to visit a friend, just not to raise some red flags. But then, when I applied for the second visa, she wrote the invitation letter and stated me as her boyfriend..no problems!

File Transfer...: 08-10-2011 - When CPC-Mississauga Approved and transferred my application to Pretoria.
Med's Done....: 07-08-2011 ( did this get sent before your application was sent in?) - You have to do your medicals before you send your application, when you make an appointment with your doctor and he examines you,he will give you a paper and signs it(kind of a receipt), this paper you have to include with your application and send it.
Interview........: waived (thats awesome lol) - This was last week


Yours will go smooth, just double check everything, give them a ton of evidence of the relationship, pay all of fees upfront to avoid any delays. I will advise you to go to the CIC website, there is a ton of useful information in there! Read it, read it, read it, and read it!

You don't need to order anything, all the information and guides that you need you can find it here : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

Make sure to read it all, there is a bunch of helpful information in the website and on this forum also.

From everything I read most don't receive an AOR from Pretoria. I am no exception, though Im not worried about it.... I am hoping to hear something soon. We are holding up ok, I am going over for a visit for a month or so...I can't wait any longer. I haven't seen my wife in 8 months now.

The letter(email) was sent to me (sponsored person). Hope everyone gets their approval soon also Let's keep on being positive!
