Helloooo?Huh
Is there really no one else out there applying through Pretoria??

Feeling kinda lonely in our little visa office thread, hey Perfect?

Guess we've only got eachother's experiences to go by. Hoping to get that AOR sooooooon...  need to send in the rest of my documents.

...I really wonder where all the Pretoria applicants are, it would be so comforting to share each others experiences. But anyways, Its been 2 weeks today and still not in process...I check ecas every second I just need that peace of knowing someone is working on it. Sigh...waiting waiting and more waiting! Hope you get AOR soon and documents request soon...

Hi all!

I am applying through Pretoria! My wife sent in my application to Mississauga on 10 September.

I have a potential problem though! I was under the impression that I can pay the app fee with a Money Order from a Canadian Bank and to attach it to the application. I did that, but for some reason missed the part on the IMM5401 receipt form that I had to order and submit together with the fee.
I was told in one of the my forum posts that I cannot pay for a Spousal application with a money order and that I need to pay online with a credit card!
Got me all worried now!

Just curious how all of you went about paying the fees?
Any info or suggestions would be a great help!

Thanks!

Welcome Jacquevw

Saw your other thread about the money order as well... really have no idea. I paid by credit card so not sure about all the money order issue. Hopefully someone else will be able to clarify for you. Probably best just to call the visa office and ask... hopefully save you some time if they are intending to just send it back.

Quick question for you... did you get a SA Police Clearance?  I've been waiting almost 9 weeks now and still no word... getting VERY nervous that something's gone wrong.

Can't believe two people from the July thread are already approved! Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that our process will go quickly as well.

Hi Waitingz!

Ja I had the same issue with my SA police clearence! It took about 8 weeks for me too finaly get it! I think they got tired and annoyed with me cause I went in to police station almost every day hehe! They seem to just leave it on a desk and then stack other stuff on top of it!
Im pretty sure you will get it soon! Maybe give them a call?

Have a great day and good luck!

@ Jacquevw,  I really hope they will somewhat be graceful to you and just accept the money order form on its own. I paid online using a credit card nd printed the reciept however have you tried calling the cal centre just to find out? Im hoping they wont send your application back coz that would really suck!! This process is to long already...but good luck hey. Im still not in process and im starting to get worried... Embarrassed Embarrassed

Jacquevw: Thanks for the info... definitely worrying about this police check. Your post finally convinced my partner that maybe it's worth a phone call. Neither of us are in SA so can't harrass them in person unfortunately. Going to send all the rest of our documents down this week (other Police Checks) so it can all be submitted as soon as we get the SA check and the AOR.
We'll be heading back to Vancouver initially - where my family lives... then depends on finding work from there I suppose.

Perfect: I know it feels better to finally see that "in process" on ecas but I think they're really erratic about updating it so I wouldn't panic. Mine says in process but nothing about medicals received... and still no AOR.

My parents (in canada) have now decided they want to come meet my partner's family (in SA) so we're going to have to lock ourselves into a timeline... looks like April's going to be our planned move date. That gives us 6 - 7 months from beginning of processing to wanting to have the passport in hand. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Hi everybody, ecas says in process since September 21, at least We onto the next level. Now waiting for that AOR hopefully we get it soon via email.  @  Waitingz...oh wow, that sounds exciting hey, at least you have got some plans while you are waiting, and Im positive you will have your passport by April. So far on all the posts ive read, the longest processing time ive seen is 5 months from start to finish and the shortest is 67 days..most loiter around 3 - 4 1/2 months so i think you will be fine. Smiley Smiley Have fun with the family Grin Grin

@  Jack..calling them sounds like a good idea, at least you will have some tangible info to work with. Let us know how that goes, fingers and toes crossed or you right now!! Wink

So... letter has been received!!  No idea what it says yet (my partner's sister is receiving our mail for us in SA)
Anyway, I'm assuming this must be the AOR and hopefully document request so will keep you posted but looks like it's taking them about 4 weeks.

Perfect: your timeline info is very exciting... REALLY hoping it's true for all of us too! I'm sure we'll be longer than 67 days with the extra documents and all but even 4.5 months is sounding pretty good to me.

Oh wow...congradz again Watingz! Im so curious to know what other documents Pretoria may ask for. Keep us posted for sure. It seems im right behind you so I guess it will be another 3 weeks before AOR! They usually dont send letters out to my country coz they believe theres no reliable delivery system lool, so i hope its gon be via email or something if at all. Im so excited for you pretty soon (November)well be talking about passport requests hehehe...me n my optimistic self Grin Grin
