My case:

NOC 1111 (Accountant)

Applied to the CIO : August, 2009

Received approval letter from the CIO : October, 2009 (by email)

Sent full application to Buffalo visa office: December, 2009

Received AOR from Buffalo: January, 2010 (by email)

So far, my application status has been "in process."  I desire to know when it will change to something else.  Who can HELP me with this question?  Thank you!

In process? Since when? And in Canada or in the US?

Hi guys,

It looks like Buffalo is really moving up.

Have a look at the following links, many 2009 applicants are getting their files transfered from Buffalo to local visa offices at the USA, and others like me are going to be processed at Buffalo :

I agree, but it seems to move somewhat randomly. Definitely not processing in the order of your AOR date as Buffalo claims.

Yes you are right i noticed that as well.

By the way googleman,

I have looked at the following link :

trackitt.com/canada-discussion-forums/federal-skilled-workers/514506407/police-fingerprints

I noticed that someone there is confused between the digital fingerprint and the traditional one, please tell him that he is only required to do one of them and the digital is better for 2 reasons :

1- Much more faster (takes only 72 hours for the results to be sent to Buffalo)

2- The quality of them is guaranteed 100%, so it is impossible that they get returned by the RCMP "unprocessed" because of the bad quality, since the computer system does not accept them at the beginning if the quality is bad, and they let you keep repeating them until the system accept them.

Another important thing is that immigration canada is planning to make all of the fingerprint checks electronically for peolpe who live in canada in the future to reduce the pressure on the RCMP, and improve the entire process.

"CIC inland offices which currently send clients to obtain fingerprints are now required to request that the electronic or digital method of fingerprinting be used rather than the traditional ink and roll method. CIC should be directing clients to one of the service providers indicated below. At this time only inland clients are affected."

"RCMP feedback
The RCMP has a service level agreement with the Treasury Board Secretariat as follows:

Civil (Criminal) Submission (No Hit) – 72 hours"

The source :   http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2009/ob116.asp

I cannot tell the guy in Trackitt because i am not a memeber there, so i am only an observer at Trackitt.

Good luck.

Can someone explain digital fingerprinting?
Is this a Canadian thing for police verification? The commitment to provide results in 72 hours seem remarkable.
I do not seem to find an equivalent in FBI in United States for police certificate purposes.
We are taking at least 6-8 weeks to get our police clearances from FBI here in the US.... Sad
Wonder if I missed anything in FBI and also wonder why a US being so technically advanced is still depending on the manual procedure?

You can do digital fingerprinting in the United States also Honolulu. I had a few UPS locations tell me they do digital fingerprinting. But they charge higher ($ 53 I believe). Don't know about the time frame taken by FBI to process them though.
