Guys
The Federal skilled processing time has just been updated on the cic website
hard to believe but they have some estimation times now for the app.. in 2009

I think the "processing times" that they have mentioned is from the day they 'open' the file for processing. So for Buffalo it is still ~ 1 year (time taken to open the file) plus the "processing time" as mentioned in their website   Sad

Though this might be true for a fact, but this is certainly not what they meant when they posted the timelines. This is because, for timelines to be posted, at least 10 cases have to be finalized by a local CIC consulate. That would mean that at least 10 cases were finalized by Buffalo in 2009, so that would be within 12 months. This certainly shows that if they were to be believed the timelines have definitely dipped below 12 months after the backlog started clearing up for pre-Feb 2008 cases.

Hi friends,

This is regarding the submission of documents to the Buffalo visa office. Are we suppose to download all the forms once again and fill them up or just send the photo copies of the forms that I have sent to the CIC Nova Scotia initially.

If download and send the new forms after filling them then why did nova scotia asks us to have 2 photocopies of the applications which were sent to Nova Scotia.

Please help

Have you or any of your friends left Canada while your or their FSW apps are still in Buffalo? I mean, after changing the address to a friend's or relative's address in Canada? That's what I thinking now. I don't think I can wait indefinitely without knowing when it'll be processed. My app has been in Buffalo for almost 8 mos, but no status change, still "Received by Visa Office." Leaving Canada and going home may be a wise option. If an interview is required, I can fly back to my Visa Office in the US. I think I can do my medical in my home country in Asia. What do you think, guys? It looks like the whole process takes at least 2 yrs and I didn't expect this. I applied because CIC told us it'd be done within 12 mos. And I don't want to waste any money by staying in Canada. I don't want to attend school anymore and can't find a job--can't get a work permit. I had already completed a year's study in Canada, which made me qualified to apply for PR-FSW3.

Guys, did any one get an AOR from Buffalo in the past 2 weeks? I am starting to get worried now. I am now past more than 7 weeks waiting for an AOR and still no sign. Have Buffalo people left for Easter vacation?

Guys, I got news to share. I got my AOR from CIC Buffalo by regular mail yesterday :-) The letter was dated Mar 29th 2010, which would be 6.5 weeks since Buffalo received my complete application package. What is strange is, I know that Buffalo has been sending AOR through e-mail since the past 1 year or so. My initial AOR from CIO NS in Nov had also come via e-mail. In fact, I was losing hope that I would get anything by this week (which was my 7th week of waiting) as Buffalo office was closed on Apr 2nd on account of Good Friday. However, lo and behold the AOR was lying in my mail-box. Any idea, why this might have happened?

That's strange. So they switched back to mailing? Why? I got mine by mail last summer and then they switched to emailing. Now back to mailing? Why the change back and forth?

Hi,
When you get the 2nd AOR, do you use that to check your status on ecas website? Will the first AOR (from NS) show the same status as the 2nd AOR when used to on ecas?

I have moved to a new address and I sent an additional piece of paper giving my new address when I sent the full documents to Buffalo. If they send the AOR by mail (and not email), then I am not sure if they will send to the old or the new address. If I use my first AOR, ecas still shows the old address.

Any thoughts?

Hello, You can check e-case by using both AOR (from NS or from local visa office). I can see same information of mine by using both AOR.

Usually it take 2 to 3 weeks to reflect the changes of address on e-case. Last time when I changed my address it took 3 weeks to reflect on the e-case.

Thanks for the info. Garian4u... or others who have got their 2nd AOR. If you check on ecas, does it show that the 2nd AOR was sent (or whatever is the status)? Basically, Garian4u got the AOR dated 29th March. So, if you log on to ecas can you see the the same now?

Not yet, deardhir. At this moment using the 2nd AOR, e-CAS says, we couldn't recognize the information. I guess e-CAS may change next Tuesday or the one after that. By that time, even the AOR from CIO NS will yield the status as "Received by visa office"
