I read it somewhere on this forum itself, but can't seem to recollect the topic on which it was posted, mpapdp.1984. Someone had posted a link to trackitt too. I should have posted that link right on this forum. Too bad I didn't.

MarkCan when you say "successfully resolved" do you mean issued a permanent resident visa or medicals completed?
Thanks

That person was asked to submit his medicals and passport together. I consider that "successful" because if you have reached that far, only bad medical results can disqualify you from the process. If his results satisfy Canadian Immigration, they already have his passport to issue the visa.

Thanks Mark. Lets wish the December 2009 applicants good luck too as their processing appears to have started as well.
Hopefully we will be on to January and February 2010 soon enough - I suppose that means the via Sydney route processing ( those who had to apply to CIC Sydney before Buffalo) should begin by about February 2010 - IF ALL GOES AT THE PACE ITS PROCEEDING NOW.
Fingers tightly crossed and prayers on our lips!!

The guy has a job offer in Canada. Could it be a factor in being processed faster???

Honolulu:

I would think that for the early 2009 applicants, the processing should start somewhere in February or early March 2010. Yep, we are all keeping our fingers crossed.

Yes, a job offer in Canada is a sure shot sign that your application is being processed faster than other applicants who are filing under FSW without a job offer.

As an afterthought, we should all remember that some NOC categories get preference over others from time to time. So, if you happen to be in an NOC category that is currently in demand in Canada, chances are that your application will be processed faster than other. Call it luck or call it doom. Life is like that.

Guys,

A minor update in my case (Filed Nov 14th 08, AOR March 18th 09, File transferred to Detroit Oct 27th 09). I sent an email to Detroit consulate today in response to their previous email that my application was screened on Nov 10th 09 and correspondence was being prepared to be mailed. However, todate I received no correspondence from them (after 2 weeks of waiting). Their email today said they have not yet sent any correspondence.

To make a long story short: Paperwork is moving extremely slow at this consulate. They are taking more than 3 weeks just to inform an application about the next step after screening the application. I'll update again when I actually receive the letter so we can get an idea as to how long it actually takes just to send a correspondence.

The good thing about Detroit consulate:They are extremely fast in replying to emails (generally reply back in a couple of hours after sending emails). I guess the number of files being processed at Detroit are way less than those at Buffalo, so Detroit communicates with applicants pretty well.

mpapdp.1984:

I believe you are inching closer to your goal. We will have to look up to you as a yardstick to guess how much time it would take our cases to get resolved, since you filed in November 2008. I wish there was a way to know if Detroit is moving faster than Buffalo, but I guess there isn't. They are just overburdened at Buffalo, tis all. Some cases have also been sent to other processing centers in the United States. Not to forget that Buffalo also has the burden of other type of visa categories as well. FSW without a job offer in Canada is certainly not on the top of the list of CIC.
