To All The Buffalo Applicants:

Here is some good news finally for those of you who applied in late 2008 and 2009. After tracking the progress of CIC Buffalo, I have come to the conclusion that they are working on the October/November 2008 cases. So, those of us who applied in 2009 can breathe a li'l easier knowing that 2009 applications are not far away. Like I mentioned in my earlier posts, they will start processing 2009 applications in early 2010. As it is, we are in November now. By the time CIC Buffalo catches up on 2009 files, it will be early 2010 (Gotta remember, December is Christmas time). Cheers. Mark

Hello friends
I just got my AOR from buffalo last week. I had send my RPRF draft also along with the application in september last week.
But what suprises me is that I just enquired from the bank, and found that my draft has been cashed.

So what does that imply.. They have started working on my process?

thanx

Nope, cashing in of any kind of draft/money order or any other form of payment does not mean the processing has started. The money is most likely cashed in by the Sydney office (Nova Scotia). As of now Buffalo is busy with November 2008 applications.

UPDATE:

There is news that the minister of immigration plans to stick to the new rule and keep the immigration timeline within 6-12 months. However, if you read in between the lines, what he is trying to say is that provincial and CEC visas will be given more importance compared to FSW. I am beginning to think that they want to phase out FSW in the long run. So for those of us who applied from Buffalo and who fall under FSW, this may not necessarily translate into concrete action. However, let us keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.

I think people should email Respected Minister Jason Kenney about the ground level realities in Buffalo about "6-12 months" of processing times...

Well, it is very unlikely that an email would have any impact. You just gotta remember, it is we the applicants who are in "need" and not CIC. They will take their own time as per their own procedures and instructions from higher ups.

...... instructions from higher ups.

thats is what I am saying, rather than being a loser and doing nothing, do something and contact the 'higher up'. I mean what will a 4 minute time to write a 5 line email cost you...

anyways...i am not here to give lecture...i am just saying this to "TRY" to make issue visible...good luck

so guys...i have sent the email and request others to do so...

write a 5 sentence, 5 minute email...it cost nothing..email address is provided in my above posts..

just write respectfully that the timings under new process at buffalo does not match the timings mentioned/promised by the minister in the parliament address and it it requested that minister should look into this matter...etc etc..

thats it...now move your lazy a** and do it guys...

Appreciate you taking initiative for writing an email to the minister regarding the time-line issue everyone is facing.
You have done a good job, but
I WISH you were equally respectful to everyone in this forum/thread as you sounded in your email to the minister.
