Guys have a look at this wierd case ! i am not going to comment on it to let you read it  in the following link:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/attn-seniors-totally-unfair-to-ask-such-kind-of-explanation-from-singapore-t45478.0.html;msg327550#msg327550

Usually i take the side of the IOs and find them the excuses for what they do by putting myself in their shoes, but in this case i tried to convince myself and could not do so.

It looks like the immigration officer was extremely  bored and did not find anything to do or any reason to refuse the application to come up with such wierd reasons.

What a dumb immigration officer !

What a dumb immigration officer !

this case looks to me as individual officer's judgement out of rule book boundaries. When I read the case, their were two points in my mind perhaps they have shown less POF & dependency on uncle. And since his uncle is getting unemployment fund & can not support them financially; it make sense what VO said in letter. But as in latter reply this guy mentioned that he has shown even little extra POF   & not less. So what VO said does not make sense to me.
Coming to ILETs score; VO checks if applican has 67 points or not; guide book does not say (if I am not wrong) about minimum points for ILETs; so I am not sure why VO is raising less ILETs score. My question to VO would be if VO allow someone with less than 67 points if applicant has 16 points for English? I think answer would be 'NO'; because applicant has less than 67 points. So why VO is raising such (ILET) point.
Last defense to VO decision; VO judged that applicant would not be able to get the job because of not having highly efficient English which might be MUST in applicant's case (to get the job in his profession in Canada). Applicant might not get job - if such judgement is in VO's duties then VO has reason but if it is out of VO's power then this is not good sign.
Solution - Contact the law office to reply to VO. Why? A law office can prepared your reply by pointing rules; for example  such & such rule; section x of rule 123; so you are eligible and it is not fare reply form VO. (2) VO would be aware that he is communicating to person who is practicing immigration law; so VO might think twice if he is going out of his boundary.

Sometime a person (VO) can judge about something which is not good for his country or society (for example, paying public funds to immigrant or some other reason); so VO might had taken decision in interest of his country's favor. Having good intension for country is not bad thing but going by rule book helps in constructive society. And Canada visa office (officer or his supervisor(s)) might be forced to look into your case positively if a law office represent you.

Good Luck.

Yes I got a big surprise from my wife who refused to do medicals but I am okay. I am sure that your ppr will be here by tomorrow or by next week.

Thank you Beauhoe. I am also waiting for that email. Will update the group when I get it.

Hi lavasi,

We almost have the same timeline exactly.

If you live in canada, you can check with the cic call center using your client ID number. If not, unfortunatly there will be no way to confirm except with the visa office, and usually they do not respond fast in the visa office regarding confirming the receipt of any documents.

I sent Buffalo an email inquiry  about the status of my application for the first time since i applied to the PR the day before yesterday, and have not got any responce yet except the automated response that they received my message.

please, correct me, if i am wrong..
but it looks like (assuming other things being equal) that the most important date is not second AOR( from Buffalo) ,but  the date when the file was trasfferd to Buffalo from CIO.
I compare my case to garian4u's..
1)Garian4u  : transfer date dec 10, 2009, 2nd AOR(Buffalo) 29 March 2010, today's status "in process"(since june18,2010)
2)mine        :                    dec 22, 2009, 2nd AOR(Buffalo) 17 March 2010,                       "recieved by visa office"

thanks

No, If that is the case, almost lot of ppl would have got status as to In Process, it depends on individual case and whn Buffalo received the documents.  Unless they have all the Documents, they can not even start processing...!!!

Thank God I got my visa last friday. Buffalo received my passport on June 9th and send it back June 17th. The turnaround was faster than the 15 days they claim. I pray for all of you, my Buffalo buddies, to get your visas faster.

These dates don't have much of significance. Each case is different. There are folks who applied after me and have gotten their PR. Just take a back seat and enjoy the free Buffalo ride.
