 please let me know if DOB is compulsory to send
.. to be very honest i don't have it and cant even arrange dob, i have 10th class certificate with dob and passport as well i can eve provide my pan card with dob on it.. please let me if i have some another option.. i can get no document found .

please help me as its urgent..

Birth Certificate is mandatory these days and we even got a couple of applications back from CIO just because of not providing that. Where are you from? There is every possibility that you can get a new birth certificate if you are from India. Please go through this thread, i remember sometime back i read about how to get birth certificates in India.

i think DOB certificate is a must for CIO.They returned some applications for want of DOB certificate.U can apply to ur municipal council for DOB certificate...if not available, they will issue u a "NOT FOUND" Birth certificate in HIndi/ur local state language...then get it translated into English by notary & Prepare an Affidavit of ur DOB (copy it from ur passport)...Rest local notary will guide u.

Notarised copy of DOB certificate is sufficient....DO NOT SEND ANYTHING  ORIGINAL UNLESS CLEARLY STATED IN CHECKLIST..

Hi danishsoomro,

Not sure what you mean. But, i did not mention anywhere that CIO needs the original birth certificate. They only need a notarized copy of BC as of now.

Yess.... DoB proof is a must... CIO (Canada) are not accepting 10th class certification....not even Passport....forget PAN card. If it was New Delhi (VO), like before, they were accepting....NOT NOW.

The only other way .... (nobody knows whether this is acceptable or not)...which may be considered is to get affidavits from the village / town elders (where ever you were born) mentioning your family details like that of your father, mother, siblings, place /hospital/ dispensary name etc. It is to be signed by Tahsildaar / Municipal Commissioner. Take at least 3 affiavits.... and try your luck...I feel it is quite easy to get DoB certificate as compared to affidavits. So at least give a try for the certificates. By the way... where are you from & why is it difficult to get a DoB proof!!??

So I am even getting the PP photocopies notarized...as they are not accepting PP for DoB proof 
(2) Related to PP again. CIO wants photocopy of Biodata pages (PA only). AND VO wants the complete set (PA + all). So decide accordingly.

I have not gone through your reply...will do it now..... We will be filing around 15 Sept 2010.

Oh yes Anil, by default all photocopies are to be notarized , also we will get photocopies of all pages of all passports(including the canceled ones) included in the application. We are not sure if we have to sort the VO documents and CIO documents separately?

Dear friend...
There is some confusion..... You want to say - If I am not wrong INDIRA...... OR If I am not from INDIA ........
Whatever the thing...... ....how can anyone send original Birth Certificates.. ... it has to be photocopied and notarized.....Original means - you will get it only once.... My dear friend..if you have got N number of Original Certificates please attach and send them. I don't think anybody will have any objection. BUT be rest assured that you are NOT going to get back those documents, if the application gets accepted.
