CANADIAN IMMIGRATION SYSTEM AMENDED Regulations Amending the Canadian Immigration System Announced Vol. 146, No. 33 — August 18, 2012 Ref: http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2012/2012-08-18/html/reg2-eng.htmlHIGHLIGHTS: 1. Creation of an additional class -- the FSTC (Federal Skilled Trades Class); 2. FSTC applicants must have LMO, Trade Cert., minimum IELTS score and 2-yrs experience; 3. CEC (Canadian Experience Class) qualifying requirements reduced to 1-yr (from current 2-yrs.); 4. All applicants will now have to get their Foreign Educational Credential assessed before applying; 5. Education points rearranged; 6. Work experience points reduced; 7. Work experience raised from 4-yrs. to 6-yrs to get maximum score (15-points) 8. Consideration for AEO (Arranged Employment Offer) removed & replaced with LMO (Labour Market Opinion); 9. Minimum score of 67 continues -- but the criterion (per sub-category) is rebalanced; 10. A minimum IELTS score (4-points per ability) is required to be qualified to apply; 11. Favouring younger applicants (Age score revised: Maximum 12-points for ages between 18-35. No points beyond age 46); 12. Adaptability points rearranged. Now previous Canadian employment history fetches maximum score (10-points); 13. Spousal education points replaced with spousal language points; 14. Introduces a Minimum Age criteria for relatives (minimum 18-yrs.) in Canada (adaptability points); 15. Discontinuance of adaptability points from spouses who are Canadian citizen or PR; BOTTOMLINE: These changes come from the various consultations CIC had been doing with stakeholders since the last year. Which is aimed towards a faster immigration process for the applicants, as well as considering their ease of settlement in Canada. Basically the economic class (FSW & CEC) gets FSW being split into two -- FSWC & FSTC, with CEC being continued with more gusto. And more significance being given to the applicants Age & Language skills (which we had been expecting since last year). The main idea being to have new immigrants who are "ready for work" immediately upon their 'landing' - rather than 'draining' the various welfare schemes.

First, don't worry about Ecas. It isn't updated regularly.
Second, if your glucose had been under control for the past 3 months, they will not be able to know. When they know someone is Diabetic it doesn't affect the application as long as he has no complications e.g. Kidney disease. Therefore when they know that someone is Diabetic they ask for an additional test for testing kidney functions; serum creatinine.
I advise you to be frank & not to worry & that was what we did in my family. Though the additional test will delay your application a step further.
That is it. Good luck
Basmalahh
Thanks for your reply so did they ask you any additional test, if yes, the doctor did the test immediately or they send the results to CIC and later they asked for additional kidney test. My last HBA1C report shoes a score of 6.9 which is considered as controlled diabetics, but in last three months i haven't maintained my sugar well, so i m afraid what will happen. another question, do we have to fill in any additional application / from with RPRF or just have to send the RPRF bank draft to visa office. what did you do ?

Hello All,
Posting after a long time.
Just wanted to share my landing experience as it may be helpful to any future 'landers'.
My PR visa was issued by ND VO in late Dec 2011 and I had time till Sept'2012 to land. I did my landing via bus -- Greyhound NY-Buffalo-Toronto; I had lots of baggage to carry and excessive flight baggage fees were not worth it (I am based out of Mumbai but was on a business visit to NY and took some time off to finish my landing formalities).
I was too conservative to pack my bags as per the max weight rules but as it turned out they didn't even check the baggage weight !!. I could have packed more but left some stuff back in NY. The route was through Peace Bridge and all went smoothly at the border. The officer asked some general questions (are you going to stay permanently, How much cash are you carrying, your address etc), checked the landing papers and stamped the COPR and gave back a copy. He then asked us to see a Customs officer on the other side to show our GAL and GTF. She flipped through the GAL/GTF forms and the relevant attachments and stamped each document and issued a customs receipt for the declared value of GAL/GTF stuff.
The whole thing took about 30 mins or so and having all the required documents pre-filled really helped to get out of their quickly and smoothly. The only hiccup was from the bus driver (who btw was a real a***ole; I was the only one on board doing PR landing and it took us about 15 mins more than others and that pissed him off and we had a heated argument after I came back from the Immigration office).
Send me a msg if you have any questions, especially if you are landing via NYC-Toronto bus.
I could see some familiar names from about a year back and hope they too are through with their visa process.
Congarts to those who crossed the last hurdle and good luck to those who are still awaiting !!
Regards, JasonBourne (Btw it's just a coincidence that I landed in the same week as the release of 'The Bourne Legacy')
