Hello,
I have a question.
I am currently on a LMO based work permit which was issued in Feb 2012 for 1 year validity. The designation/title, role, pay which was mentioned in the application for LMO, is about to change. It is with the same employer, and location. What my understanding is, my employer needs to send an application for LMO, and go through the work permit process again.
If i am not correct, can anyone explain, the other option, and how it will be done? And, if I am correct, do let me know so that I know what I am thinking is correct, and go ahead with the rest of the process for obtaining new LMO, etc.
Also, does the employer has to show recruitment effort? I have been employed with the same employer since Sept 2010. I was on PGWP until Feb 2012. Then I recieved LMO based work permit from Feb 2012 (which was exempt from recruitment efforts as I was on PGWP earlier). Not sure how this will go, as this is a promotion. I am aware of the process of recruitment as per service canada guidelines.
Any help is really appreciated.

First of all "Congratulations SShiv on your promotion".... Yes, what you are thinking is absolutely correct. Since each LMO is tied to " Employer, Designation, role, pay and place" , your employer has to go for another LMO and fufil the requirements of recruitment process. Hi Basmalahh, yea our timeline are similar.I have sent them many inquiries all reply that application is under background checks.it has been now 10 months since my application went into processing. Last reply from them was yesterday with a generic message that the application may be under review or background checks. Hopefully we will get our medicals soon.we have nothing to do but waiting and waiting ....  Ahmed

I have a question here..now my status is in process since 10 months and we are waiting for the medicals...after 4 months by God's willing we will have a new baby..my question is ,is there any preparation step I should do before medical issue or before baby born to speed up the process a little bit.
