When did we replace AOR with PER, I missed this discussion, so PER means Positive Eligibility Review ?

I wish the CIC would put up a page showing the number of PERs released as well, similar to the one they have for the number of applications received. They could update it at the end of the day showing how many applications from each month have received the PERs and how many were still pending. That would be the most accurate way of keeping track of how many PERs they're releasing per day.
Of course, I doubt they would ever do that.

They seem to like keeping their cards as close to their chest as possible. They HAVE to update the number of complete applications to stop people applying after the cap reaches 1000. Since they don't HAVE to tell us about the number of PERs, I doubt they will go to the trouble. Wayne.

I posted my question at several places in FSW forum but did not get a satisfactory answer. I hope I will get it here.
CIO received my FSW app in NOV. 2010 and cashed my payment in a few days. But I have doubts about my education points and fear that I will fall short of 67. My question is ;
Does CIO return an application if it falls short of 67 ? Or it forwards it to the Visa office without looking at the points?

Adding the points for 67 points seems to be done in the Selection and Admissability part, not in the Eligibility Review. There is some confusion as to whether CIO or visa office does this. According to the guidelines in the PDF on the CIC website, the file is not sent to the visa office until after the Selection and Admissability, which would indicate that CIO do this. However, the guidelines also no longer say that an AOR is sent, but as we can see an AOR is sent after the final eligibility review, so the processes on the CIC website are already proven to be incomplete or wrong. So no real way of knowing at the moment. Wayne.

Welcome to this thread dear harmony1 ........ I may be wrong, but here goes my theoryYour application may be complete (as per the documents required) .... so CIO charged your CC /BD. Then your application will be processed under eligibility review ..... means whether you qualify as per MI ... 67 points .....etc.. There it will be checked for the 6 selection factors - where a person can get a max.of 100 points ...67 to qualify. In case CIO feel (and not you) that you can't get through (score being < 67 points), then your application will be rejected / returned. Your payment will later be refunded by CIO. It also implies that you failed eligibility review. ... Your application will not be forwarded to VO ..... Hope it clarified ....... Cheers, Anil

Given that the PERs people are receiving right now state, "Final determination of eligibility", I would assume that the CIC now calculates the points as well. I could be completely wrong about this but I think the CIC completes all these stages and then sends the applications to the VOs who only request medicals, PCC if not already sent and PERHAPS do background checks. What are other people's opinions on this?

Out of interest:
pradeepkumar_v Received 16th August, told by CIC 4th April 2011 for email
asoo62 Received 28th September, told by CIC 19th May 2011 for email
Both are pretty much exactly 33 weeks from received date We've already seen people getting AORs as early as 5 months before that, so pretty fair to say the people answering the phones don't know very much about the eligibility reviews. They can probably see the date your application was received, and when the CC/BD was cashed, but that's it. So they just add 33 weeks on.
Wayne.
