Hello everyone,

Extremely delighted to inform that we received our stamped PPs today around noon... (Stamped on 2 April and valid till 9 Feb 2013)... Exactly 18 months and 6 days... And the wait is finally over!!! Tough to word my happiness most appropriately, but I am sure everyone can themselves imagine my joy  Smiley  Smiley  Smiley

'Thank you very very very much' - is the least I can say to every super member and friend here... Needless to say this journey would have been even tougher if I didn't have you all... Thanks is simply an under-statement... I feel much much more for every one of you, for all the guidance, the clarifications, the support, the encouragement, the smiles - everything right when I needed the most  Smiley  Smiley  Smiley

So hereon one journey ends, just for another to begin  Grin

Best wishes for every single friend here... specially those that are desperately waiting for movements... I sincerely pray your wait just shortens!!

Love,

Hi Guys,
Would love to take valueable feedback on my case, i have filed my case on 7th Sep. 2011, got PER on 23rd jan 2012, ECAS still in process since February 2012. Would any suggest how long will it take to come medicle request ?
Thanks in advance for your valueable concern on my case.
Dear Shahzad,
It completely depends on your visa office. I sent my Docs in Feb 2011, and received file number in March 2011, and I am still in RBVO !

There is no question that your case will be delayed that normal cases because of the obvious issue of student visa+stay of 8 months.

My first query to you would be whether you have submitted the swedish PCC?

You should not worry about the points, you are placed much higher that the required points.

The only delay in your case is in Security/Admissibility check.

hi mitali & Amar,

thanks for the reply...

sure..i have submitted pcc from sweden and india..original ones......

am just thinking to send gcms or caips note....am planning to wait one more month...till may 15th...

regards,

ann

Hi well a few points I would say in response

1) Paying tax on your weekly income irrespective of how much you earn is not true. Each Canadian resident has a tax allowance per year below which they do not pay tax. My wife is currently working part-time in a shopping mall whilst trying to secure a science job, and she pays hardly any tax because she earns only barely over the threshold (which is $10,000 to $11,000 per year I think - there are actually 2 figures, one for Federal tax and another for Provincial).

2) Canada have plenty of people to do "labour jobs". They don't need immigrants to do those jobs. They need immigrants as skilled, educated workers. But the system can be a tough nut to crack.

Some approximate stats to remember
- Only 20% of jobs are advertised, the other 80% are secure through referrals, word of mouth, people cold calling companies
- 80% of job seekers go for those 20% of advertised jobs.

You have been here in Canada for what, 3 to 4 months? The average length of time it takes an immigrant to get a job in line with their profession is around 6 months. My wife has been here for 3 months and is still working part-time in the mall. However she has recently had some interviews with a science company in Central Vancouver (still waiting to hear if they are going to offer her a job or not). She did not get anywhere by applying to the company in the traditional manner. Instead she met the CEO of the company at a science networking evening and after several conversations and emails from him personally he was able to arrange for the interviews to be set up for her.

And regarding Canadian work experience, you have been working as a security guard in Canada. So you now HAVE Canadian work experience. My wife got the job in the shopping mall 1 day after she landed here and by the second day she had already complete 1 day at work.

But securing work in your profession takes time, hard work and patience. Networking is the strongest means. Try to build names and contacts and get that personal level of contact with prospective employers.

I'd urge you not to give up yet if you've come this far.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Perfect. Thanks Wayne for posting this. It gives relief to many people in this forum who are scared.  Cheesy

Thanks,
satya.
