Hello everyone,

A friend of mine is contemplating applying for PR... I am posting his question here... Will be great if someone can help as I have absolutely NO idea of this!

Some of his educational, legal or other civil documents are in the regional language (Gujarati) and we are supposed to submit translated versions to the CIC so how do we go about getting the official translation done from Gujarati to English? (The CIC website says "If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarised (certified) translation with a copy of the original version.")

Please guide...

If thats easy to do, Yes. But, I would do what CIC website says.

With God's grace, the mission is accomplished without any hurdles.  We received our passports today!  A million thanks to all my forum buddies and fellow applicants.

My current home address is updated as Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Canada PR journey has been a g8 learning experience and I bet I came out as a more matured individual from this endeavour.  I have the following observations to make for the benefit of all considering to apply for Canada PR.

1. Hiring a consultant has been a good decision as the documentation was foolproof and no issues faced.  But one cannot leave everything to the consultant and shld be aware of all the updates on the cic websites.
2. The cic.gc.ca should be read judiciously after applying for the PR.
2.  E-cas should be regularly visited and kept track of.
3.  When there is a considerable delay in the process, a general enquiry or a CSE should definitely be sent.
4.  Always include genuine concerns in the covering letters sent with documents etc.,(especially when passports are sent)
5.  Track all the documents sent to see that they have reached the VO properly.  Keep the local postman in loop to never miss any correspondance.

And as for the rest, much was at stake for this PR, my husband's job(USH1B), my child's education.....but Canada PR was the foremost priority.  When priorities are set right, things begin to happen.  I have a 3 P's rule for Canada PR....

I have realised why patience is such a rare virtue.....to the extent my experience permits I will always contribute to the discussions on the Forum...This journey was made easy with the support of the Forum.......Gud luck to all waiting for their turn of happiness.

I got a call at around 23:24 IST (India)... So its definately not NDVO..... Neither from canada as it would be sunday morning in CANADA...

I found that area code 519 is from Ontario, Canada. Some one tried to reach you from canada. I guess.

I can understand why you might feel the most unlucky person, expecially whenNDVO is processing files within 5-12 months to most of the Post June applicants. But, hey dont give up! To start with, send your them a case  specific enquiry. Cheer up!

I just Googled the number....it seems to be an ONTARIO (CANADA) number. I also called the number  (Could not hold the curosity   ) ....and was answered as : Customer not available and French msg too...so definitely its either from France or Canada.

Maybe its a wrong number  ....dont worry.

Hey Forum Friends,

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THOSE WHO RECEIVED MEDICALS, RPRF, DM, VISAS IN THE LAST WEEK
(will also congratulate individually as I finish reading the backlog)

SORRY FOR BEING AWAY SINCE THERE IS A LOT OF WORK TO BE DONE BEFORE WE FINALLY LEAVE FOR CANADA. 

Since we are planning to leave in May, there are quite a few people to whom we have to reveal the news.....we never realized that there are so many......although there are some people who think that are decision and timing is wrong(the ones that we thought would be happy for us)    but there are a few who are genuinely happy for us.....That's the IRONY OF LIFE    

Also there are many odd jobs to be taken care of.....I am tired of updating my list (it doesn't seem to end).....one thing I know now is that IT IS NOT EASY TO PACK ONE LIFE AND START ANOTHER 

I know I have been saying this repeatedly (We are still contemplating between Toronto or Vancouver) and although we have few friends in Toronto who can help us out with the schooling and the apartment, I would please require suggestions from my dear friends out here on which locality in Toronto or GTA would be the best.

Hi Nokia,

I think I was the one who said that will let you know about schooling after some research. Sorry that I couldnt get back so far since I was very busy. I will get back to you in a weeks time definitely.

If you are planning to land in Toronto, Then my advice is to look for a place away from downtown which is the sub-urbs like Mississauga, Scarborough and some other places. All the sub-urbs are well-connected to downtown. I live in Mississauga and commute to Toronto Downtown every day using "GO Transit". Mississauga has good schools, commute, Indian Community, Easy access to grocery stores etc etc. The same way, You can search in other cities as well.

Please go through GTA map. Also, browse online for go transit . com and tta . com. check for maps and how they are connected to different sub-urbs around. You will definitely get an idea. TTA is connected from North to south of toronto. GO transit is connected from east to west of Toronto.

I don't know if you have already looked into apartments here. Let me know, if I can provide any info/help.

I finished my interview on 16 feb, 17 feb I got MR/PPR/RPRF.
I did medicals on 23 feb,I  sent PPR/RPRF on 24 feb.
My DMP sent medicals on 24 feb.
