Hi Raggarwal,

Thanks for throwing some light.

My GCMS notes say that after sending MR my file has been forwarded for background and criminality checks.

According to Mitali and other seniors criminality check for those who have never travelled abroad (like me) should not take long.

Now the question is ,,,
1)Does the VO issue medicals without BG checks??
It is surprising as I got a verification call 10 days before med release date, which clarifies that BG checks were already done...
2)Is verification call a part of BG checks??

Param

Hi Param,

My colleague with same job duties and much longer travel history than mine, got his visa within 20 days after medical and 5 and 1/2 months in total from start to finish, so no idea about criminality checks with no travel history shouldn't take long. I guess only the visa officer can answer this question. My criminality check was cleared on 13th dec, but still no visa.

I do believe VO office issues medical only after background ckecks or eligibility is cleared by the visa officer. After medical they do send the file for criminality checks.

Hi Bhakti,

Anyone can translate the documents but has to keep it in same format (look) and match minutest details... And get it stamped from a Notary as translated copy of original.

Param

Dear dear Param and Bhakti,

Not "ANYONE" can do the translation.

The document has to be translated by a "CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR"....which means that he should be having his own SEAL with the proof of him being a CERTIFIED TRANSLATOR and afterwards the doc can be NOTARISED as "TRANSLATED COPY OF THE ORIGINAL"

A couple of weeks back, I wrote to London VO complaining of the procedure whereby people who applied later are seeing greater progress than those who applied earlier.

I also reminded them of the unfair situation where circumstances have changed due to their inaction which allows one set of applicants, within the same cycle, to get their visa based on their circumstances when they applied while the others have to deal with changing circumstances.

Last week I got the generic response "This is in response to your enquiry.Your application is in process or waiting to be reviewed by an immigration officer. No further action is required by you at this time. Our office will contact the applicant when a decision has been made or if further information is required. Immigration decisions and information requests are sent by post or email to the addresses provided in the application. We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum"

I thought that was the end of it but today I got a follow on which says "Thank you for your recent enquiry. Please be advised that your application has now been reviewed by an immigration officer. The next steps in the processing of your application are due to be taken shortly, which includes the issuance of medical forms. We will be in contact with further information in due course."

At least I got a positive response for my persistence.

That is pretty courageous and it pays at list.

I hope they will keep to their words and send the medical form as they responded.

Smiley Smiley Smiley With God's grace, the mission is accomplished without any hurdles.  We received our passports today! Smiley Smiley Smiley  A million thanks to all my forum buddies and fellow applicants.

My current home address is updated as Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Smiley

The Canada PR journey has been a g8 learning experience and I bet I came out as a more matured individual from this endeavour.  I have the following observations to make for the benefit of all considering to apply for Canada PR.

1. Hiring a consultant has been a good decision as the documentation was foolproof and no issues faced.  But one cannot leave everything to the consultant and shld be aware of all the updates on the cic websites.
2. The cic.gc.ca should be read judiciously after applying for the PR.
2.  E-cas should be regularly visited and kept track of.
3.  When there is a considerable delay in the process, a general enquiry or a CSE should definitely be sent.
4.  Always include genuine concerns in the covering letters sent with documents etc.,(especially when passports are sent)
5.  Track all the documents sent to see that they have reached the VO properly.  Keep the local postman in loop to never miss any correspondance.

And as for the rest, much was at stake for this PR, my husband's job(USH1B), my child's education.....but Canada PR was the foremost priority.  When priorities are set right, things begin to happen.  I have a 3 P's rule for Canada PR....

Patience
Prayer
Perseverance

I have realised why patience is such a rare virtue.....to the extent my experience permits I will always contribute to the discussions on the Forum...This journey was made easy with the support of the Forum.......Gud luck to all waiting for their turn of happiness.

Thanks so much for your observations and contributions.

They are very encouraging.

Accept my congratulation and the very best future in Canada with your family.

Cheersssss.............

Hello dear,

Do you by any means know how long it takes further to process one case if an update of spouse is effected on your form.

I am currently expecting my medical but just file requested forms and credentials for my spouse update.

Thanks

Hi Unus,

After long time..... I know that thsi WAITING will raise lot many questions, ifs and buts in our mind.... Advising you to be calm and patient..... To answer your queries:

1. As your DMP send the medicals on 24th Feb please calculate 15 BD there after which is coming to around 16th of Mar'12. So you can expect Medical recv line on or after 16th Mar. (It may happen that on 2nd week ending of Medical sending date you may see Medical recv line but those are very rare cases.... & sorry to say but we are not one of them).
Your medical line will appear at "IN PROCESS" state only... so at first screen you will get the status as IN PROCESS and in detail update you will see medical line. (As after this directly DM status is there so they can not put you on that status unless and untill they come to the conclusion of granting you your PR)....

2/3. As you said you send your PP/MR/RPRF to NDVO as requested by them only.... If they didnt ask you about the new PCC; when your documents will get open again at the time of decision making (if they notice) that time if they found that PCC is required they will ask you about the same by returning your PPs.
If it is not required then they might grant you your PR without asking PCC again....

If they need they must have asked you in earlier (MR) request only (just confirm the letter issued by NDVO again).... and as you correctly thinking that without PP you can not apply for PCC... then why are you thinking so much.... Just pray to god that everything will go smooth and you will recv your PP back with VISA STAMPING in one or one n half month........

So be calm and have faith....Smiley Smiley Smiley
