Update: just got off the phone with my MP's office. I was told that CIC sent me a letter back in February 2011 asking me to re-apply! The only letter I got was my PER and nothing else. So there seems to be some confusion which the office will follow up on. I was also told that the delay is normal, it takes 18 to 24 months from the date the application reaches the visa office to get a decision. In my case that's 18 months from October 2011. Finally, they told me that CAIPs notes come back empty because Buffalo visa office no longer uses that system so the only way to follow up is via the online system or by contacting them directly. Understaffed and unorganized and we get to pay the price. Let's hope for the best.

Hi Mahek,

Thanks for the update.

A quick question - what do they mean by re-apply?

Thanks,
satya.

Hey Satya,

I had applied under FSW3 in 2010 but the application was rejected at the CIO stage so it's amusing that this is what they have on file. I clarified that I have a new application and forwarded my MP's office my PER from my current application and they said they would follow up. I know Buffalo has my application because every time I contact them they say it's in processing. All very frustrating but let's say optimistic.

Hi Mahek,

Thanks for the update.

Thanks,

No idea... she said she found only 3 photos. It seems they misplaced it during CIC stage.

Hi Shadab,

Good to know that they have looked into your file. This means that your file will be processed fast. But why the photos???

Good luck

Hey guys,

«How r u all?

LANded yesterday Toronto at 18.00 was very excited, went to immigration counter they stamped my visa & sent me to the new immigration officer, the lady was nice asked me about the funda I am carrying which I was carrying in the form of cash, traveller`s cheque & scotia bank A/c statement, she told us that we will receive our PR in two weeks time...

Today I went to apply for the SIN number which was at Towncentre Scarborough & to activate my A/C with the Scotia Bank which was at Steeles Avenue, so two of the work completed ... »Got my SIN number & A/C debit card (credit card would reach my address in few days time)...

Started snowing also...

Yeah most important ..

I travelled though British Airways:-

1) Don`t buy liquor from Delhi Duty free I bought two Chivas Regal which was taken at London Airport by the security at heathrow because there were two options either to get it into the checkin bags which is a big problem due to time constraint because if you have 3 hour even that is less sometimes because of rush during security checks & above all the airport is so big that you have to travel though transit train which takes lot of time...

2) if you are food savy BA is not the right option tooo bad
flight got 3.5 hours delayed also because there was some technical problem with dumping waste of the washroom...

That`s what I went through a mixed experience.. not a gr8 experience with BA, served food very late give breakfast at around 8:15 in the morning & the next meal at 16:15...

But landing here was a truly a different feeling all together...

Take care guys

God Bless all

Regards,
Arun

Great to know about your experience... Wishing you all the best for everything that you have to accomplish now! I have some questions for you related to landing... Will email you soon... Please do find time to reply... Thanks!

Best,

Wucike,

Welcome to the Buffalo club. I am sorry to say but Buffalo has not processed cases for SEPT-OCT 2010 yet. They transferred some SEPT OCT 2010 applicants to other VO's during Jan - Feb 2012. No movement since then.

Can you please provide any info on what they changed on 2012/02/04? Is that the new date? April?

I applied around your timeframe, as many others, and any useful info you can share from your CAIPS would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rod

My CAIPS in November where the same.... It is very sad to see that nothing is being done in our cases  Cry The only hopes is that some applicants (around our time frame) have sent a Case inquiry and they replied that the case would be assessed by June 2012

Yes,

Here is one for example:

Rod

Hello BVO applicants,

I have sent email to Buffalo visa office to know about my application. Application date: November 9, 2010. I got reply saying:

Your application is in queue for review. It will be reviewed by June 30, 2012. No further action is required by you at this time.

We thank you for your patience and for keeping your correspondence to a minimum.

Please note that you are responsible for maintaining valid status as long as you remain in Canada. If your residential or mailing address changes, you must notify our office.

Somebody else got same reply earlier.

Keep you guys posted.

Thanks

Wuckie and Rod,

I was informed by my MP's office today not to expect anything from CAIPs notes since Buffalo no longer uses this system. The only way to stay up to date with your application for now is to contact Buffalo directly. Bummer, I know.
