hi all,
this question is especially for Madgy and Shalom, but any member's valuable remarks would be highly appreciated... we recently had a baby boy and we need to update this to our visa office in newdelhi. i am currently in US and getting my boys passport would take me around 3 months here, However i will get his birth certificate by 2 weeks. i have learned from this forum inorder to update a child will require us to send baby's notarized passport copy. since my current status is RBVO, my question is
I. Can i update via sending case specific inquiry to the VO and also attaching the scan copies to the mail or need to download the files and send them via post?
II. should i have to do it right away or wait for his passport to arrive?
thanks
Hi Asharu,
Firstly, congratulations for your baby.
Secondly, did you get a letter from you Visa Office or its just RBVO in the e-case ?
Regarding the application update, yes you will need a copy of the baby's passport (just a photocopy, notarization is commonly done for experience and other official documents). So I advise you to start obtaining the passpost as fast as you can
In the meantime, you need to send an explanatory letter to your Visa office (by case specific or email or DHL, mentioning your file number) informing them about the change in your family composition, ask them to provide you with instructions how to add your baby to your application for permenant residance.
After that, they will send you a list of required docuemnts, you will perpare the complete file and send them altogather by post or DHL.
Good Luck!
Magdy
