Hi all, **** VISA RECEIVED! **** Well I am pleased to announce that at 2pm today, after almost 11 months since we mailed our application, we received our visas in our passports from CHC London! Below is a picture of myself and my wife just outside CHC London (actually taken in Grosvenor Square with CHC London in the background with our visas). Congrats! Does anyone from CHC London (I guess only Danishsoomro so far in this thread) know if we should expect any of our original documents back? Not that we really need any of them I guess, but the IELTS test would be nice to have back as a momento  Wayne. |

It arrived via snail mail, I have 45 days to submit my passport and 2 new passort sized photos!

I have watched the video. It does seem to me to be incredibly one-sided and bias.
All of the immigrants shown in the video are not native English speakers, and their English did not sound particularly great, so perhaps language was a barrier for them at interviews?
And, for example, the pharmacist seemed upset that he had to work as a pharmacy technician for 4 years whilst he recertified in Canada. To me that is purely down to his lack of research if he thought he could just turn up and work at the same level he did in Iran without recertifying.
I have no doubt that some immigrants will find difficulties they will have to overcome when they arrive - but I think this video paints a much blacker picture than is truly the case.

The question is if CIC approves your immigration application on the basis of your work experinece, academic qualifications and standard of English of French, why are these not recognised when you get to Canada? I can understand the issue with certified professions but it shouldn't take 4 years for a surgeon, who has performed numerous surgeries in the UK, to get his qualification recognised in Canada. Are they saying that Canadian human physiology is different from the rest of the world? |

Yup - not everyone who s going over there will be succesful...thats the bitter truth..is'nt it? thats how it is everywhere......the best thing one can do is to go in with a mind set to intergrate completely into Canadian way of life although that does'nt mean doing the 100% things their way but anything and everything which can make us fail should be put away............by reading i ve come to a conclusion that most of the people who kind of fail over there are people who are a bit of shy of taking new challenges...start over....they believe they will get better jobs as soon as they arrive...well thats not going to happen in every case....so saying this again...best approach is to go in with your battle gear and tough it out till you get what you desire and take it onwards...
