Applications after 26/6 in any NOC CONNECT HERE TO GET THE STATUS

I agree the main frustration here is how little information CIC is giving. Owing to the vast length of time some people in the past have had to wait for Permanent Resident Visas (many years) and some are still awaiting, I think most of us would accept a delay - even an 8 month delay - if CIC gave us valid reasons for introducing such a delay, and informed of us exactly how this new process is going to work.

If the case is that MOST of the grunt work for processing is going to be done by CIC now, then the knock-on effect of this is that very little work will need to be done by the visa office. So this means that although things take longer at CIC that may be balanced out by a shorter process at visa office.

But the fact that CIC are not communicating WHY we should expect such a long anticipated delay is what is most annoying. It could conceivably be 8 months before some people (those who cannot tell when their bank draft is encashed) even know if CIC received their application!

Such poor communication is IMO unacceptable.

While I agree and empathize, this is exactly what governments across the world offer as 'customer service' - they care two hoots about us.

Stepping back, how on earth will apps be processed faster if it is all FIFO? As a comparative analogy - when US started a new labor process effective mid-05, the time it took for the new process shrunk from 2-3 years to 6 months. This gave many a lease of fresh life because clearing certain stages meant certain privileges. However, since they still retain their position in the line, the receipt of the actual permanent residence would still follow the FIFO

If you rewind 3 years further into 2002 - the same thing happened. The labor pre-2002 was moved to a backlog reduction program, and post 2002 was taken up with priority.

Its not very clear on the news published by CIC that for NOC 1122 they have received 865 complete applications by end of 29th Oct 2010.

Does this mean that from all the applications they have received till 29th Oct 2010 only 865 are complete or till 29th Oct 2010 what ever the number of applications they have reviewed from the total applications received (could be much more than 1000) they have got 865 complete applications.

How do we get this info. My application will reach CIC today and i am not very sure my application will be considered.

Based on Docmanu's horror story, all the people who have not got thier BD's or CC's encashed or are not aware of it due to several reasons (agent or bank not confirming) and have submitted thier application for more than 2 weeks now, CALL CIC NOW.

Unfortunately CIC don't make it particularly clear whether what the numbers mean, most people now seem to think it means that the application is received AND passed its completeness check. After completeness check the applicant's credit card is charge or banker's draft encashed.

Now, this currently usually takes only a few days. So if they'd received 900 on October 29th (that have passed completeness check) if your application reaches CIC today, then one might expect the completeness check to be done within a few days.

You might just scrape through! Will be tight though.

Usually just a few days, sometimes up to a week. But it's pretty quick.

Ok I just added you. Can I please ask which visa office you are using?
Looking through the spreadsheet I some of them have taken up to 2 weeks so I wouldn't worry until you get past 2 or 3 weeks if your card hasn't been charged. Depends on whether or not you sneaked into the cap I guess! Fingers crossed.

Doc Manu:  I am so sorry to hear your application has also been lost at CIO.  Legally, I don't know what can be done, but that aside, take a few deep breaths and PUT TOGETHER ANOTHER PACKAGE AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN!!!  Your NOC is far from reaching 1000 so don't give up.  I looked over the spreadsheet and see that there are MANY who have not been encashed right back to July.  Some of these people may not have updated their info, but many may be in the same situation you are in and our friend faced, last Friday.  Hang in there.  Reaffirm your goal.  REAPPLY!  All the best.

Going by the scheme of things, i guess 1122 would be closed this week, and then we can expect things to really speed up because as wayne mentioned they are having a hard time filling up the other NOCs. So hopefully CIC staff can be utilized on AORs.

- The numbers announced are the actual numbers of applications received (no applications are pending somewhere in the pipeline)
- The number of applicants under each NOC will double 4 folds , or until it reaches the cap.

This does not make any sense. On Oct-29, 1122 was at 900, and Nov-1 (with no business day in between) is at 940 - 40 apps in one day, that is too good to be true!

Two explanations I can think of are 1) Rate of inflow is higher now that more people are familiar, and have had the time to arrange all the requisite documents 2) They are still clearing apps from earlier Jul-Sep and hence we are seeing ballooning numbers. But this does NOT explain encashing of 1122s as late as last week i.e. if you are still clearing apps from Sep, why encash 1122s in late October knowing fully well that refunds are more painful and additional costs for CIC !
