IRG, it is!
And not only because i beleive the russian journalist, but in Moldova it is almost the same. It is not my case as I am woman and did not do any military service. But if somebody would like to make a problem ... and it was mention for turistic visa!!! Why do they need to know that?
Sorry, i think its only discussions , if you can speak russian - read it. Millions of Russian people are applying and providing all necessary info through Russian authorities. Can't say anything about post soviet countries

Like Noolan, Berry and others whose fees have not been encashed since their applications arrived in July/August, there are other applicants who have major issues requiring CIO help. If people are incessantly calling Nova Scotia to ask about the 33 weeks, etc. those who have legitimate problems will not get service. Please be grateful that your BD or CC have been charged. Be relieved that you appear to be on your way to the next step. Stop calling CIO and help the really distressed applicants find answers and the peace that you already possess. Thank you.

33 weeks mean we would be addicted to the forum on daily basis, pressing F5 and checking our email account on each day morning (after 5 PM Canada time), praying that we get successful AOR. The PR comes with a long waiting and one would have high respect for it. Hope this 33 weeks time is highest possible wait period and we would start getting AOR once May / June is over. As per June sheet still 35% applicants are waiting for AOR. If we go as per minister announcement that the application would be processed in the order they are received after year 2008, we are in queue waiting for June applications to be finished. as of http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/statistics/data-release/2010-Q2/index.aspthey have 150,000 FSW applications waiting for decision I have no problem waiting fairly for all the June applicants to receive their AOR or rejection. But given that 2/3rds of June applicants have now either received an AOR or a rejection, and this has taken around 4 weeks from when the first June applicant received an AOR, I cannot believe it will take a further 29 weeks to finish the final third of the June applicants reviews/AORs! The timescales simply do not add up. It should take at most another 2/3 weeks to finish all June applicants' reviews/rejections/AORs. But we have already been told by several CIC staff that they are doing eligibility reviews for at least up until the end of August. I am beginning to suspect that they are withholding all AORs and rejections for post June 26 until they have filled up their full 20,000 quota. So when they return applications the applicants will have no opportunity to amend the application and re-apply. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but this feels to me like what they are doing. Wayne.

Their process deems they cannot encash until the completeness check has been done. If they were not even looking at us - why have several members reported that CIC told them on the telephone that they had completed AORs up until the end of August (probably well into September now)? No, I think they most certainly ARE looking at us. What I am beginning to suspect is that they are keeping their cards to their chest, and not sending ANY AORs or rejections until they have all 20,000 that they need. Hence the 33 week quoted figure. As I've said, I sincerely hope I am wrong and that I am just being overly sceptical! Wayne.

1. To confirm the receipt 2. Return incomplete application no further processing has been made yet, they might wait till next MI for 2011, or untill the CAP filled, but the fact is - they have not started processing, they clearly saying : Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia, is currently working on applications received up to June 25, 2010. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I cannot believe the 33 week for AOR is correct, simply because the processing time for those who have applied post June 2010, will go over one year and those who are applying in June 2011 will have to wait until the June 2010 people are cleared... 33 weeks will create a new backlog and it will be an embarrassment for the administration. The new policies would then be considered a complete failure.
I think what they mean is, you will hear something WITHIN 33 weeks... so stop calling us every day. I think we should get some AOR's in November...
Cam [/quote]
In fact, Cam i agree with your opinion. It makes sense. 33 weeks should be the maximum period within which the whole processing is completed and even the visas are released!

One way of looking at this is that if people keeping phoning CIC, then CIC will be delayed even further. But the point is that if CIC actually gave us regular, coherent updates on their website, very few people would need to phone them (only specific cases where application has been lost etc). Such coherent updates will only arise when CIC wake up to this fact, and the only way they will do so is by monitoring how many phone calls they get with the crappy updates they currently do on their website, and then do something about it and see how many phone calls they get if they try giving regular, useful information on their website. Something like: - We have currently received XXXX applications - Of those, YYYY have pass the completeness check and have been cashed - Of those, ZZZZ have passed the eligibility review - By the way, when we say that an application counts towards the cap we mean that it has passed its eligibility review / passed its completeness check (as appropriate) - We currently envisage sending the first AORs out in early November - We currently envisage the time between receiving your application and issuing an AOR to be approximately 10 weeks
That would take someone 5 minutes per week and would probably save them HUNDREDS of hours of phone calls. So I don't think stopping phoning CIC is going to help. I think we should phone the hell out of them until they actually give us some useful information. The 2010-2011 FSW1 applicants have collectively spent literally millions of dollars and tens of thousands of man-hours investing in these applications - for someone at their end to spend a few minutes per week updating us with useful information really wouldn't hurt! Wayne.

Is this waiting period for those whose payments are done? or for everyone? How are we supposed to know if we are in the queue at least, when we are not able to find out if the payment is made? or the application was returned and lost? Indira Prabhakaran.

Wayne.
There you go again...lol What makes you think if we continuously harass them with our calls, asking about our personal cases, that it will translate into them saying: "Oh, let's give these people more updates on our website" ? More likely, they would say, "Cut the phone lines so we can get some work done" Just my 2 cents of course. Cam

What I am saying is that they should extend some courtesy to the people giving them millions of dollars and tens of thousands of hours of their time, so that their customers (yes, customers) wouldn't HAVE to phone them. My 2 cents, Wayne.
