Yes almost all of us sent our medicals and other documents before BFD...but that alone is not enough..other reports like Background and security have to be added to files as well(this part is handled by assistants)...if all reports are recieved well before BFD visa officer MAY open particular file before BFD(as explained by qorax)otherwise file gets marked another BFD.
Hi CB, After all checks only RPRF DD gets en-cashed right ( if I am not wrong ), I have read this some where. If RPRF en-cashed well before BFD and BFD falls on sat or sun or holiday, applicant should wait after 45 days. Then again if next BFD falls on same criteria day ( unfortunately ) will it be nightmare for an applicant? Regards, Krishna

Hi Krishna, RPRF encashment is not connected to any procedure( handled by assistants). -Encashment of RPRF only indicates that ur file is eligible for further Prossesing. -Security checks start only after recieving +ve medicals( www.roadtocanada.com,BC explained by TTTT) CB

LOL bindu...yes game is afoot...killing time with assumptions..and trying to find logic....again a lot depends on case to case...grasshopper's case is unique and may be very simple(like working for reputed MNC ,Living on a single address from 18 years onwards,no outside country assignment etc), are u sure ur RPRF is not encashed(did u confirm it through bank),or maybe it got filed with other documents and may come up for encashment on next BFD.

did you know that it is a tradition that you do not shave if your team get to the Semi finals? My husband reported this to me this morning, as Vancouver Canucks are now in the "no shave" zone. It is obligatory for the team and fans also follow the rule if they are fanatical followers, which I believe most of them are! So expect lots of men with hairy faces around the West Coast in the coming days. I wonder if the female fans will have to stop hair removal as well? Hopefully there will be a lot of baggy trousers and no short skirts to see!!! Kind regards, Louise!

To those who have taken medical examination:
Are your medical examination reports sent to Singapore?
I was told that the reports will come back from Singapore to Sydney Visa Office in 4-6 weeks. If it takes 6 weeks, I would be unable to meet deadline.

Regards Bindu That is for sure VO does not work like our govt offices, where files sits on bottom of pile and new ones dumped over it....in VO waiting is system generated and pops on screen of VO on assigned date.....but system cannot help if assigned date falls on holiday..and my opinion 45 days time is default setting.

Guys i firmly believe, there are sets of application, given to every VO, and they process as per their own method though looking the time line. As I have said before also, it depends on what papers are to be checked. If less no. of papers then less of time. Hi CB,

I am confused What is this Brought Forward Date and what is the relevance of it? Hw do you know what this date is for your own application and how does it help you to know it? If anyone could enlighten me, I would be grateful.

Hi - I think the Brought Forward Date is the date that the visa officer is next scheduled to get your application out of the filing cabinet and decide if it is ready for the next stage (medical requests, PPR etc). Usually it is set if CHC are waiting for anything from you or DMP etc (such as the medicals, RPRF, schedule 1s, PCCs etc). I believe the only way to find this out is to order CAIPS notes. Wayne.

I am confused What is this Brought Forward Date and what is the relevance of it? Hw do you know what this date is for your own application and how does it help you to know it? If anyone could enlighten me, I would be grateful. Hello, Queen of the Cougars Hope u will find following info helpful. A quote from Qorax:
regards, Dr.HasibAll about BF'D : -Only for some of us who didn't know...
BF'D is an acronym for "Bring Forward Date" in the Canadian PR processing system. Usually our file moves from BF'D to BF'D, as it is the day/date next earmarked by our VO to check our file. This actually serves to eliminate unnecessary clogging of the system... that if there is nothing further to add in a particular file, the VO moves to another case file to work on, rather than holding onto the same one.
What happens on a BF'D In simple terms it is the date that the file will be looked at [again], assessed, reviewed by your case handling officer at the CHC. S/he will check if anything is lacking, any further queries to be made [to you], any documents to be asked or if any decisive action is to be made/taken. Basically it serves as a 'Reminder Tool' to the case processing officer & that your file is not 'forgotten'.
Now, if the VO observes that something is lacking [that which was asked for], s/he will probably attempt to contact you on this BF'D day and mark another BF'D on your file. This depends on the subject of check [the all time phrase 'Case-to-Case' basis]. Sometimes, if the check report warrants, the VO might not give you another opportunity and take a decisive action. Note: The situation is fluid & no one can really provide a sanguine comment on it.
Will the file be 'only' looked at a BF'D No. If something like reports, results, documents etc. [eg. background/security checks] comes to the CHC in between, your file gets opened and assessed. However, if nothing is received in between, you get another BF'D. Note once again: If they are waiting for something and it comes as expected then the file continues to be processed further, if not then the file will be next reviewed on the BFD 'only'.
An Example Every time we get a letter/email from the CHC -it carries a 'time limit' to submit something, right? Say 45 days, 60 days or 90 days... the ending day of that time limit is our next BF'D. As an example, if the CHC sent you a medical request [alongwith the forms] on 02 Jan 2010; and it carries a 60 day's deadline -it means your file has been marked with the next BF'D of 01 Mar 2010.
However, if your medical results are received before the BF'D [01 Mar 2010], say on 05 Feb 2010 -your file will be further processed on that day itself [05 Feb 2010]. If the med results didn't come by earlier, then it will be opened on 01 Mar 2010 -the BF'D day.
How many BF'Ds we get Some BF'Ds are 'routine', as exampled above. Then there are some which is either case generated or because of us. By 'case generated' I mean, [eg.] if one's Security Report is pending from an external agency -the VO gives a BF'D & waits. If the report comes in time, action is taken. If it doesn't, one gets another BF'D. And the situation continues...
By 'because of us'* I mean if the VO had asked us for a document [or a couple of them]. It is wise that we proceed to submit the document/s asap. Reason? The case moves faster [read: it'll open before the BF'D]. If we don't, s/he may try to contact us on the BF'D day & log another BF'D on our file [result: Delay/s].
Delays due to BF'Ds As stated above, except the 'routine' ones, other BF'Ds do delay our process. At the least [best scenario] each BF'D would be a month apart. Some might be more. The ideal action on our part is to submit anything that has been asked for asap. That would negate a BF'D. However, there can be times that something we just might not be able to send asap. In that case we 'must' send it by the 'deadline' -that'd avoid another BF'D, won't it?
*Many Consultants [so called agents] erroneously advise us otherwise. Stating, "Oh you got the meds, don't worry you have time till 60 days to do it". That's a 'bull'. I'd advise -do it asap, if the speed of your case process matters to you.
This post I chose to write 'coz many members are either clueless about the BF'D issue or take it lightly. Which, albeit causes delays [without our actual intention]. Moreover, there are repeated queries on the subject in various threads. I hope this helped... Qorax

Hello, Queen of the Cougars Hope u will find following info helpful. A quote from Qorax:
regards, Dr.Hasib Thanks, Dr Hasib! It is such a helpful post as I had missed that. Bearing in mind what it says and that we received PER on the 24th Jan and have been RBVO for so long without any further communication, how does this square up with the BFD? Surely we (and others in this time scale) should have reached a BFD by now? Is it only by ordering the CAIPS notes that you can find this out? How do you go about getting the CAIPS notes and would they provide helpful information in our case? Sorry for so many questions , but I am a proactive person and just waiting like this with nothing left to do to affect our case is killing me. If I knew there was something I could do to pursue and issues the VO might have with our case I would do it at once.
