I really feel for you guys and us, waiting like a car with a burst tyre at the side of the road while everyone roars past at 90 miles an hour on their way to the airport with sunny smiles on their faces. It is very disheartening. This is where we are being tested to the limits. I am new here and I have a question regarding Police clearance certs (PCC). I am an Indian citizen but have never lived in India ... only been on vacation and never for more than 2 months. Am I required to obtain a PCC for India for the purpose of applying for permanent residence in canada?
Could some of the seniors Indira, anil, fma etc also provide a response please?
If you have not lived in India for more than 6 months in 1 go, you need not get a Indian PCC Thanks, Indira Prabhakaran. |

Hi guys !!! LONDON UPDATE
I have submitted my passport in person today at Canadian high commission London. It was a small queue of 10 ppl or so outside ... i went in 2 ladies and a gentlemen asked my passport, update chart form and 2 pics, gave me the receipt and asked me to come back after 2 weeks to collect it back. The whole process took around 2 mins.
One thing was funny when all of them saw my file no. and asked me that is it correct? i said yes, they said it should be starting with EP if i am provincial nominated or B if i am skilled.... i said i am skilled and with new rules that is why it starts with E ... they said ohh ok with a bit smile, they were friendly .. end of the story ...so wait for 2 weeks start from today ..

Hi danish - strange about the file number. We are skilled workers but ours starts with B. I thought it was to do with whether or not your application was initially added onto CAIPS, or whether it was added directly onto GCMS, which seems to be the case for late September 2010 applicants onwards. Anyway thanks for the heads up. Still no PPR here, I phoned my bank a week last Friday and my draft had not been presented to the bank yet, so I am going to phone them today or tomorrow since I am now past 5 weeks after medical results arrived at visa office (28th April). Although our RPRF/PCCs were delayed a bit and they didn't arrive at VO until 16th May, so unsure if that will affect PPR times. No change in ECAS, been the same since 17th March for me - still doesn't say that medical results have been received (on Thursday it will be 6 weeks since they were received, with no ECAS update). And haven't heard from James1 for ages. Is there a particular entrance you need to go to queue up? Is the place easy to find? Is it 1 or 38 Grosvenor Street? Wayne. |
