If I don't get the MR within 6 weeks from now, I'll apply for a study permit and give up on the immigration plan. I can't wait more.

Why don't you send an inquiry to London VO and CIO ?
they mentioned that they would consider these inquiries in case of exceeding normal processing times and I think your case is.
Did your application went on "In Process" or not?

Any update from london VO?

No news for us and now 5 months since PER, 8 and a half months since application submitted.
My husband and me are separately becoming so demoralised.
We are currently renewing my husband's LMO and that will make sure that he can get a new TWP when this one runs out, meaning he can stay for another year at least.
I am going to move across to Canada a soon as this is approved. It will be a risk, going over without PR yet, but we can no longer bear to be apart and must put an end to this sad separation.
Life is too short to spend any more time without each other.
I regret that this unfair processing procedure has brought us to this when we were trying to be careful and make sensible decisions all through this process.
We are still RBVO today.

They hold all the cards on this, I'm afraid, because there are no "normal processing times" currently for FSW.
         Since they say they have not got enough data to state the current processing times since the June 26th 2010 rule changes, London can quite easily say that all of us London applicants who have waited so long that we cannot be outside of normal processing times because there aren't any!

hmmm, they have already asked for an updated IMM08 application in their letter to me. However when I wanted to know more about it, I have sent them fax and an email to enquire about it. They haven't returned back to me with a reply. I did not send any updated forms as I considered it  neccessary for newly applying candidates and this is a standard format for their letters. Now they are asking you for the updated form as they have asked some cairo applicants for extra fees as an update for currency exchange after april 10th. Shall I assume that the visa office is asking for an update when it comes to larger families or when certain time have passed since intial application is submitted ?

We could say all the same things again about "procedural (un)fairness" and all that, but I think we have said it all.
 We have just sent a fax to London today about our change of address not being updated and also asking kindly for some information about why our application is taking so long.
Just hoping for something soon, and for you and all the other London/Buffalo applicants who are still waiting too.

I can share my expierence with RPRF payment method. I have paid that through CIti bank in egyptian pounds to the canadian embassy account given in the letter according to the table of fees attached to the letter. You have to have this letter or a copy of it including the table when u pay at citibank as they will take a copy and attach it to the reciept. By then you can have your original receipt, simply make 4 copies of it. You will send the original + the 3 copies and you will keep one copy for ur reference. Regarding the IMM08 application, you dont need to submit it. This is a standard format addressing also those who will open a new file with the embassy according to the older instructions.
