Hi Amro:
I think you have to write to IELTS and request another official copy, it is my understanding that it can be done.
Cam

Infact, I believe, this is the easiest part of gathering the docs again, the rest will be a nightmare for any one, who has to gather the docs again, May God save us from this trouble,  guys do you thing there is any specific reason, we are seeing many cases for lost docs.

This is really alarming and refrain people from sending the originals.

I think the hardest part of document gathering again would be employment reference letters.
If we had to compile our application again, here's what we'd have to do:

1) Order a copy of IELTS results, probably around £20 and a 1 to 2 week wait for it to arrive
2) Get fresh estate agent quotes and mortgage letter for our house valuation, shouldn't take more than a week
3) Order fresh transcripts from the Universities (Bachelors for me and my wife, and Doctorate for my wife) - probably another £40 or so and a 1 week delay
4) No need to get PCC this time since London changed the checklist that it is not required at initial application stage
5) Get our companies to re-print their reference letters, this would probably be the hardest bit to do! A bit of a pain for past employers, was hard enough getting them to provide the first one! But should be obtainable within a week or two
6) Photocopy everything again, get it all notarized again probably £150 to £200
7) Re-print the saved forms we have. Have to hand-fill in the "Your Travels" non-computer fillable form
Cool Obtain a new banker's draft (around 1 week and £20 fee, plus the cost of the draft)

So I reckon we could get our application together again with a couple of weeks work and £300 to £400. The longest delay originally was waiting for the IELTS tests and results.

I think this is why most checklists ask only for originals where specified and the rest as notarized photocopies, since CIC only want the responsibility of the bare minimum of original documents.

We have hard copies of EVERYTHING original we sent, including the signed application forms. The only thing we didn't take copies of was the University transcripts since we could not open the sealed envelopes to copy them!

Anyway my deepest sympathies to those who now have to re-compile their application again, hopefully it will be easier second time round.
Wayne.

I have no problem waiting fairly for all the June applicants to receive their AOR or rejection. But given that 2/3rds of June applicants have now either received an AOR or a rejection, and this has taken around 4 weeks from when the first June ..................
I sincerely hope I am wrong, but this feels to me like what they are doing.
Wayne.

Dear Wayne

I agree with you on the aspect of holding down the applications till certain number is achieved....but NOT 20,000. I am having a strong feeling that it will never reach ....... Huh  Cool Huh .... even if it does ...it will stretch like anything...  Cry
Most of the listed occupation has not even reached 50 (19 occupations to be precise) ...... between 51 to 150 (only 7) ...... more than 150 (remaining 3).

With such stringent procedures ...required qualification + experience + IELTS + PoF ... occupation like crane operators, electricians, plumbers, mechanics, welders, cooks ...... may rarely reach 1000  Shocked Shocked
Moreover, countries like India, Pakistan, China, Philippines (80% of Canadian immigrants), people with such profession don't have even PP ...forget qualification, IELTS ....... If they happen to get that kind of money (PoF)... then why will they immigrate - this is the trend (& the attitude!!!!) ..... I don't know why these have been included in NOC list .......
What exactly CIO wants to prove ..........................................................End of Part 1............  Cool Cool Cool

Cheers, Anil

I ask for patience and not calling CIO "just to make a point" as we are in a similar situation to Noolan regarding an application that appears to be lost for three months.  Having waited the 90 days one is told to wait when you see all around others getting encashed in record time is very hard and even harder when you GET to that 90 days and you are not able to get through or it takes forever to do so.  But it isn't just for that reason I suggest everyone refrains from making these general enquiry calls....I don't think they will drive change in the system, rather they will waste resources.  Constructive suggestions, written or emailed, to the Minister of Immigration or Prime Minister, that clearly demonstrate HOW the ministry can save money/improve efficiency are far more likely to create improvement.  Thank you for your consideration.

Atleast from what I read on IELTS instructions, replacements would NOT be given to us, it will be only directly sent to the receiving entity. So that rules out resubmitting the application. Stupidity of massive proportions.

Am I missing something here?

What if I lose my Test Report Form?
Test Report Forms are valid for two years. Copies cannot be sent to candidates but IELTS will forward a Test Report Form to your relevant institution or embassy. Up to five copies will be sent free of charge. Additional copies will incur a small administration charge. Talk to your test centre for further details.

How can I order more Test Report Forms if my test centre has closed since I took the test?
If the test centre where you took your test has closed we can still send a copy of your Test Report Form to any Receiving Organisation for the first two years after your test. If you have not done so, please check under the IELTS Worldwide Search to make sure that your centre has been closed.

To request a Test Report Form you will need to:
complete an Application for additional TRFs (from closed centres) form (PDF, 570 KB). It is very important that you complete your Family and Given names exactly as they appear on your identification document
Submit the form by clicking the Submit button at the end of the form
Include a scanned copy of the passport or identification document that you used when you sat the test (this is done after you click the submit button on the form).
Test Report Forms can only be sent to Receiving Organisations and additional copies will not be sent to the candidate, their families or friends.

There is no charge for this service.

Replacing a whole application from scratch.  Yes, it CAN be done, it has been done once and Wayne has itemized the cost.  But for many, getting ORIGINAL reference letters dating back 10 years may have been incredibly difficult due to location or cooperation of management.  THEN, take the thought of the Council sending an original of your IELTS results to CIO when you have no File Number or your application has not yet been received.  If CIO can misplace a 1.5 kg package of documents, HOW is that one little piece of the puzzle going to make it safely into your file?  If you don't send a complete package to CIO you stand the chance of having it refused as incomplete if the officer does not read your explanation letter or choses to disregard it.  And then there is the question of WHO HAS MY INFORMATION NOW?  On so many levels it is stressful and unproductive.

here's what i am getting from all the notes on the ielts requirement. As per instruction on the requirements on the CIO checklist, you need to submit the valid original test result of Iat the time of the IELTS. Why worry if it would expire when at the time of submission it is valid? Thats how I think CIO will check the validity of your results and not check it at the time that they will start reviewing your application package.

Just my two cents

This recent posts have been a lot of "what ifs." I understand the difficulty of walking in the dark post 6/26. As for my own account, I'm going to send my application as soon as possible (just a few documents missing), as close to what the guidelines have stated. No progress on dwelling on the variables. And hope for the best since all these speculations are as it is, just speculations since there has not been a solid feedback from anyone post 6/26.

Cheers and good luck to all.

Dear noolan and Go Canada,

I'm terribly sorry for what happened to both of you and to the other guy(i can't remeber his name) for having your applications back. Sad Sad Sad

noolan...so sorry for the loss of your package. What a nightmare!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

If you remember guys, i asked people who were not encashed to call the CIC to verify the matter and i said that there is a possibilty that their package were retuned and lost!!! but no one gave a comment on what i had said(i really don't remeber the page!!!)

Any way,

PLs PLs noolan and Go Canada..reapply...do whatever it takes to reach your goals...never ever give up. We all know that it is a very long very hard way for all of us that needs us to be patient, isistant and confident. No one said it will be easy. We should all insist to break all the barriers infront of us. By the power of God we'll finally do it.

Hi,

I have the same situation here. I called CIO  and they told me my app was returned the 30th of August and I have not received it. I received the letter and I am planning to send them a letter because it seems they have not sent the package back, someone has forgotten to send them...

Anyway at least I already know something regarding my application.

Like Noolan, Berry and others whose fees have not been encashed since their applications arrived in July/August, there are other applicants who have major issues requiring CIO help.  If people are incessantly calling Nova Scotia to ask about the 33 weeks, etc. those who have legitimate problems will not get service.  Please be grateful that your BD or CC have been charged.  Be relieved that you appear to be on your way to the next step.  Stop calling CIO and help the really distressed applicants find answers and the peace that you already possess. Thank you.

May I add that there are people still waiting for their applications to be processed from all the way back to 2003, that have not heard anything in years! We are all trying to immigrate to another country and they are being extremely kind to allow us in.

Regarding our group, post June 26, they have updated us only four months into the process as to how things are looking. Unfortunately though this does not seem to be enough for some who would like a one page summary with their morning paper and coffee every day. In my opinion they are doing the best they can and would be the first to show us the door if we are displeased... because outside that door there are literally millions of people glad to take our place.

This phone number is the only way for some of us to resolve emergency matters, let's not take actions which would lead to it being removed. Patience is certainly a virtue in this case...

All in my opinion,
Cam

I had also called CIO today. It took almost half an hour to finally get through. The agent said the current time is 33 weeks. When I asked whether it was from the time my application reached, or is it from the time payment was encashed/charged -the answer was that it is the time from when the application reached CIO. The agent also mentioned the earlier timeline was 10 weeks, but as of now its 33 weeks for receiving a letter from them but the timeline is subject to change.
The agent was very polite and friendly.

Like most people here, I thought the new rule was going to be 120 days faster than the earlier batch since we already provided all supporting documents! but I guess the review through all these docs would take some time.
I also think 33 weeks is the maximum time limit by which we should receive a letter (informing us whether an application is accepted for further processing or not).
I really hope it happens much earlier than 33 weeks!
