Thanks guys for all your support. I really appreciate that.
Maani can I please just ask, you posted on another thread that you had "inside info" that as of 4th September they had only received 7600 applications. Are you able to tell us the source of this info, and if so any other knowledge such as when they might be sending out AORs? Thanks, Wayne.

good luck and prayers Maani...god bless ur 2nd application...i am curious how u know that they started processing ur application by 5pm,Sep 1, 2010 ? is it mentioned anywhere on letter? thanksSorry guys,
You guessed it right i was very busy in arranging my documents all over. So here is the situation.
As you all know, I sent my application on August 26, 2010 and CIO received it on September 01, 2010.
Now what i am going to tell is unbelieveable.
CIO got my application package on Sep 1, 2010 4:00 PM (DHL Delivery time) By 5:00 PM they started reviewing my application (red check marks on application)
On 2nd September, they tried to charge my CC, but as you all know my card number changed, it didn't go through.
On 2nd September, they wrote a letter saying that my CC number is not valid. (date on the letter was 2nd Sep). They sent my application back on 3rd Sep (Post mark on the package).
I received the package day before yesterday (Sep 14, 2010). I sent my package back yesterday with new CC number.

Ok guys I am getting this question a lot. I think now i should expose it. Before I filed my application, my three cousins filed their applications but unfortunately all these applications came back due to the same reason that they didn't provided their I-94s and U.S. visa copies (Buffalo modified its checklist after they submitted their application). When their application came back, there were two prominent things on the application. 1. Red number on the right corner which is definitely a sequential number, at that time for my first cousin it was 7661, for second it was 7673. For my third cousin it was 7774. Please note that they sent their applications almost one week apart from each other. 2. On the left corner there is an NOC code and number in green color below that. This number is in hundreds, so I am 100% sure it has something to do with 1000 cap. My two cousins applied under 1122 and one under some other, I don't remember the code. At that time 1122 was in its 200s. 3. Same thing was mentioned on my application. The right number was 13,455 and left was 746. I hope It will clarify some of the doubts. Thanks.

Welcome back maani1985 don't worry, you'll catch the cap.
Do anyone know or estimate how long it takes for a file to be returned (i'm praying not to) from the CIO to Cairo,Egypt.
I would really appreciate your reply.

Hi that's interesting, although why would they count an application towards the 1000 NOC limit until it's considered for processing? A returned application isn't even counted as received? Also you mentioned 7600 on 4th September, and you got your application back 14th September with 13,455 on it? Don't you think it's a little unlikely that CIC received almost the same amount of applications in 10 days that they did in the entire 2+ months before 4th September? You say your cousins numbers were 1 week apart and they only varied by 13 (7661 to 7674). So they received 13 applications during the week up to 4th September and almost 6000 applications in the 10 days from 4th September to 14th September? Like I say it sounds an interesting theory but for me the numbers just don't stack up. Wayne.

Hi again just allow me for being so happy and share with you this moment. I just realized again my lucky timeline: Aug 31 - application sent after 8 days - application received (9/8/10) after 8 days again - cc charged (9/16/10) i wonder what happens after 8 days again....

Hmm let's assume for a moment that Maani's theory is correct and they have now received over 13,000 applications, might it be conceivable that they are waiting until they hit the 20,000 - then send all AORs out at once?
That way they can then 100% focus on the backlog that they want to clear?
Just an idea. Wayne.

Everyone knows that first 1.5 months after new rules, there were hardly anyone who arranged all documents and sent to CIO, but after that almost everyone sent documents at once. It is not surprising for me at all. Because it is not mentioned that CIO with take same number of applications every day. As far as returning application are concern, I am pretty sure they change their number upon evey application returned. If they don't do it, there is no way that they can findout that how many applications they actually received. No matter if the application is approved or denied, they have to isue it a sequestial number. And that happens in US and Canada quite often. Because at some point in time, they have to show statistics.
