Except the Buffalo applicants Tell me about it Rod, but I feel a little better. Did a search on all forums yesterday and found that this response given to me yesterday... "Your application is in process in Buffalo. We are unable to provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete." ... is actually a new automatic one, sent to three other applicants the past few days. So basically they were not telling me in particular anything... it is a new standard message sent out. The things we find pleasure in, during this process, has never stopped to amaze me Cam

Today one year has passed after PER date, Address missing since January 27, Still RBVO Because it's Buffalo, Noting can be done except wait. Hi all Me and my husband are studying as international students here in Canada, now he found a very very good job in a very prestigious company. The problem is that he doesn't have work permit, he has study permit and they asked for work permit or PR. Does anybody have any information if he can apply for a work permit? Do they issue a work permit for him? Some people say that it is impossible, because he first came here to study, so he can't change his status, he must continue studying or leave the country. Actually he wants to get a work permit and get the job and then study as a part time student to finish his study. We are desperate and don't know what to do!if Buffalo was moving and we were sure that we will have the PR card in a couple of months, he could get the job! This slow process in Buffalo affects our life negatively, not only me but also many of Buffalo applicants.

I'm sorry dear~We have be in the same situation last year...but sadly, you must got your degree first then you could apply for work permit. The incredibly slow Buffalo mess up a lot of thing! But I think it will be moving on soon, so be patient~Try to cheer up. Everything will be fine. Good luck Buffalo guys~ Hi all Me and my husband are studying as international students here in Canada, now he found a very very good job in a very prestigious company. Did you try "off-campus work permit " ? My wife also holds a study permit, but we got a off-campus work permit for her. Hi bahar, Yes, its a tough situation especially with the WORK ETHICS of Buffalo VO. As for your situataion regarding your husband getting a Work Permit for your husband: YES, it is possible for him to get a WP even though he is on a student permit. But this can only be possible if the Company applies for an LMO for him (Labour Market Opinion) and if that LMO application is approved by HRSDC. Only then can he apply for a WP and change his status from Student Permit to WP. The problem with LMO is that it is a long process and not many Companies are willing to do the paper work or wait (appox 6m or more depending on the Province). This procedure also includes the company to advertise in major Newspapers and in Job bank website. HRSDC would approve the LMO application only if o a PR or a Citizen was not found for the job. The employer will have to show enough proof that he tried to recruit a PR or a Citizen. This is a possibility and that is why CIC has "Extend the stay" or "Change status" applications. If the employer wants him to work immediately then they would not be interested to apply fo an AEO for him. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.aspMitali

The 2 yr validity and LOCK IN date would be counted when your IELTS had reached the VO. You are safe. Mitali
