Dear Forum Members,

We received the medical request on 16 Feb 2012 (Date on CIC Letter is 13 Jan 2011). Our medicals have been received by the London VO on 06 March 2012.

Can you please let me know when will the ECAS be updated with the Medicals Received Line.

Also by when can we expect to receive the PPR request.

Waiting to hear from the members.

Hi Mitali,Could you elaborate on this point, why this date is important?

Hi mats,

One of the prerequisite to become a citizen depends on the TIME LIVED IN CANADA

" To become Canadian citizens, adults must have lived in Canada for at least three years (1,095 days) in the past four years before applying. Children under the age of 18 do not need to meet this requirement."

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/become-eligibility.asp

Sometimes when there is a discrepancy regarding the number of days of physical presence in Canada, one has to prove that he/she was indeed present physically in Canada.

The BOARDING PASSES would help you and the Judge determine the actual dates. Also please NOTE that CANADA does not have any EXIT CONTROLS. So, when you actually leave Canada, there is no stamping in your Passport.

Saving the boarding passes seems to me the only way to determine the physical presence in Canada. Please also retain them in case you happen to leave Canada (for vacation) at any time before you apply for Citizenship.

Thanks mitali for the info.from the link I understand that my son who 16 now , cannot apply for citizenship since I am may not be completing 1095 days . I plan to join him in 2014  after I do the landing in July 2012.he will be studying there and lets say in 2014,when I join him he would be 18 but cannot apply since I am not a citizen neither am I applying along with him.
Why even in 2015 when completes 3 years or 1095 days still he cannot apply right,Mitali?

Dear Forum,

Is there any way one can lease an apartment from India in Toronto before landing?!  As far as I know there isnt but please let me know if we can rent an apartment.  Planning to fly on 8th April.  Please share your valuable suggestions.

Thanks & Regards,

Pinakini.

I doubt it too. All you can do is, go through some posts/ads posted on some websites and contact the owners to rent the place. I am sure that you will find lot of sites to find a place to rent. Few such are..

kijiji . ca
craigslist . ca

P.S.: But, beware of providing any confidential info to any one whom you contact through these sites.

Thanks,
satya.
