Hi Friends,
Attended the CIIP program in Delhi last week, wanted to share some experiences.
The CIIP (Canada Immigrant integration program) was an eye opener. There were around 16 applicants.
3 People already had their visa stamped & rest had their medicals done.
 
Day 1—Group orientation program where the CIIP executives told us about Canada as a country starting for the provinces, states & the territories. The job market, the salaries, job futures, etc.
They stressed on alternate jobs which one has to do before people in the regulated professions get their licences which take time. Also volunteer work as they help us get the regular jobs. Then how we should make Canadian resume which should not be more than 2 pages. They also mentioned about credentials verifications to be done for regulated professions before leaving from your resident country.

Day2—Was MAP (my action plan) related to one's own profession. They made an action plan for each individual. Also mentioned about the websites one should visit for each professional guidance.
Also they sent a copy of our MAP to the concerned focal points in Canada which will be in touch with us for guiding us on jobs, schools, housing, insurance, banks, etc.

The CIIP program was a great program as it helped us to get an overall view about Canada & also help an immigrant to integrate in the system. They also gave us a certificate of attendance to each of us. I would recommend if one can he/she should attend the program before leaving for PR.
