Good Day Guys,

My application was submitted under the simple application process in Nov 08, and my e-cas status is still saying 'application received. What I would like to know is, If I was to withdraw my application now would I still receive a refund of my application fee? And if so, how long would it take the CIC to reimburse me?

you should get it back. I think around 3 weeks but it can take up to 6 months.

Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

Thanks rupeshhari! If I was suppose to re-apply under the new rules sending in a new application with new fees before receiving a refund of the first, will I still get back the first application fee?

Where should I send my withdrawal request? Should it be sent to Sydney, NS or should it be sent to the local Canadian High Commission, and do I have to send a mail through the post, or can I just send an email?

Trini_guy,

My suggestion. Send a new set of application going thru the steps under the new rules. Together with the application to Sydney Nova Scotia, attach a cover letter stating that your are withdrawing your old application and indicate in that letter your old file number. This suggestion goes if your profession falls under the 38 list.

Seniors, if this violates any rules please comment.

Dear Trini_guy,

I think u should follow aspire suggestion.
Trini ur case is similar to me.
Firstly i send my new set of application to NS & mentioned my old application status which was submitted on 15th Feb. 08 with file no. & also mentioned that i want to get the advantage of new rule.My NOC is 4121 which is in 38.
Then i apply to the Local CIC visa office for Withdrawal my old application. They responded & refund my 1250 CAD druft (in USD form) last week within 3 months. By this time i got new application AOR & already submitted full documents to local visa office, now waiting for reply with tense!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, every thing was/is going simultaneously.
I think my experience will help u. Spouse can apply ......no problem.

Alhamra,

When you sent them the notification of withdrawal, how long did it take them to respond confirming that your application was withdrawn? Also, did you get a new set of documents and police certificates to send to Sydney? How long did it take for the vocal visa office to return your application and documents?

Thank you.

SYED,

I mentioned 4121-University Lecturer.

LeoNYC,

I notify them March'2009 & they returned back only the DRAFT. They responded by 1.5 months.

I didn't send PCC & other doc to NS. I sent to local CIC office.
